Default 6spd 403" Stroker Camaro Results

After a struggle of getting some bug's worked out of the car with cam selection and some small things I believe that my car is finally running in the neighborhood of what it should be. I still feel there is significant amount of time left since it bog's really bad out of the hole. Every run bogged to 2500rpm according to the datalogs. First run (10.67 pass) I had a crank pulley issue causing oil to spew onto the headers and cause alot of smoking. Luckly that didn't do any damage!

Info on the car:
3425lb Race Weight
403 Iron Block
4" Scat Crank
Eagle 6.125 rods with ARP2000 Bolts
Wiseco Nitrous Pistons 1.10" Comp. Ht. and -3cc
Hellfire Ring's
TEA Ported TFS235 Cylinder Heads
Yella Terra 1.7's
Comp 3/8" Pushrods
LS7 Lifters
EPS Custom Spec Cam

60# Injectors (~72.6# @ 58psi)
ARH 1-7/8 Headers and matching ARH Y-Pipe
Moser 9" 3.89 Gear (Really needs a 4.30-4.56)

CE 3-way Rear Shocks
Strange SA Front Coilovers with 275lb HyperCoils

Congrats! Your car is similar to mine. I have a 427, TFS 235s, fast92 and a 6 speed but have about 200 lbs on you. I don't see too many. Yeah your gearing does seem less than ideal with 28" tires. Before I broke my rear end I had 4.10s. With 26" tires I would hit the rev limiter at 129-130 with a 7,000 rev limit. I went to 28* tires and figured I could run upper 130s before hitting the rev limiter. I now have 3.73s, went back to stock 16" rims w/ drag radials. Even with the 26" tires it doesn't seem to recover from a bog like it used to.

All these runs were NA. I do have a plate that I need to install that's capable of a 300 hit.

Congrats!

I thought that was kind of an odd question about how big of a nitrous shot you were using.

Good luck on getting in dialed in and be safe!

I'm pretty tickeled with how it runs. I'm pretty sure there is some left by keeping it in it's powerband with either more gear or less tire. I should be 60'ing in the low 1.4 region but it won't do it bogging to 2500 every pass. I'm also beginning to think that this textralia exo skel twin disc is too light to keep inertia up on launches. I have a few things I'm going to look at to get it going off the line.

lol launch higher
with the spec III i would launch at 6000+
when i went to the street twin i had to lower the rpm to like 4500 cause it would just blow the tires off. now it always bogs though. the initial hit is huge.
I kinda wish i would have gotten the soft loc

Doesn't do me any good going higher. The Lingenfelter box is already set at 6800rpm. I tried 7100rpm on the box but didn't help. I have the rev limiter (in PCM) set at 7500rpm but I shift it right around 7000-7100.

It need's more gear and I feel it needs a heavier flywheel also. This Textralia Exo Skel is pretty light.

Nice badass video. Do you have a dragbar? seems to twisted pretty good off the line. You think if you spray it the gears mite be on Par?

Oh I'm fairly sure this gearing now is perfect for spray, however the car has no cage, no subframe connectors and no dragbar. So I'm holding off spraying the car til I can get the $$ to be safe and tie the car together.

I'm ordering an Aluminum Strange 9" stump tomorrow with 4.56 gears and a spool and I'll also be putting either a Spohn or UMI Drag Bar on the rear to help it launch straight. UMI subframes will also be welded in.

Those few mods alone should help get the car out of the hole harder and move me on down the track quicker.

We will see cause we have a big shootout at Clay City KY on Nov. 7 that is put on by our local website KYHorsepower.com.

The 4:56 will do the trick and the rest of the mod are also required.
I would wait on adding weight to the flywheel, with the 4:56 and 28" slick that should work good for you.
Do you have the Stiff side wall slick?

I bet the driver side quarter panel on your car has dents along the top for sure leaving at that RPM without having the car tied together! Maybe you should spend your money next on tying the car together instead of the new center section.

Good luck on your next outing and be safe!

Actually this car I bought wrecked and had a driver quarter put in when I fixed it and they mig welded it all around and for whatever reason it hasn't messed with it. Now it does have a slight crease in it now but that was from getting rearended... my poor car hasn't had any luck haha.

Subframes are going on this week along with a dragbar. Cage will come in the spring once I find somebody locally I trust to put a nice one in for me.
