slip the clutch a little longer and get a little more aggressive with the throttle. Just dumping the clutch with only bolt ons is going to do anything for you. You just need to get aggessive with the clutch slip and get more seat time. Its an art trying to launch m6 cars, takes lots of practice

what's the da where you are racing?

something is WRONG with that car. 77 mph in the 1/8? what did the car go stock?

i did some "mods", if you can call them that, do the ta. it got much slower, as well, but still did better than that haha.

Not positive on da, I think it's around 6-700ish.

I'll have to look at my old slips to see what I was running stock

Something is wrong with your car or you're the slowest shifter that this world has ever seen to pull 77/99 MPH with that DA.

I was going to say tune but i see you got a mail order. That was my issue, I ran 8.70's in the 1/8th stock, then put full longtube back exhaust on and lid/ported tb etc. and still ran 8.70's and actually ran 8.80s on slicks and couldnt break anything over 83mph. Got a full street/dyno tune and put 3.73's in it (huge upgrade from 2.73's) and she went 8.20's at 84 after touching the limiter. But mine being an auto helps alot at the strip, I know it's alot trickier in a 6 speed.

I am going to agree with a couple of the other posters...there is something wrong with your car.

Get a Tech2 type scanner and see what she is saying in real time as your driving around.

Don't run it at the strip until you figure it out or it may get expensive.

Can you elaborate a little on the tech 2? How much is that scanner going to run me? Where can I get one?

Also, would a idle issue put the car in a weird mode?

I just think it's crazy that something could be possibly wrong when the 3 years I have owned it not a single sign of something wrong. I get decent gas milage, no piston slap on the cold mornings, no odd noises, ... It's weird, I agree, my driving isnt the greatest but 14.0s isn't cutting it for me.

Check the plugs, make sure ALL the wires are snapped on the plugs and not touching the headers, and check the o2 sensors. Be sure all the little normal maintence items are in good shape, too often it's a simple fix. You're seriously down on power though, especially in that DA.

Did any other LS1 f-bodies run up there? Were your times close to theirs?

My buddy ran, we both have the same mods, he is A4 but swapped in a set of 3.42s. He was running 12.7s. He is also on drag radials.

I'll have to check plugs and wires since I installed new ones during LT and LS6 intake install.

I'm not going to take my car to a shop and have them "diagnos" it for 100 bucks. I'm going to look into it first.

Would an idle problem make me down on power??

The Tech2 scanner is the type the dealerships have, snap on also makes one.

You could also use tuning software like HP Tuners, LS1 Edit ect.

You mention an idle problem.

Is it hunting and surging like a vacuum leak?

Check for a vacuum leak with carb cleaner or brake cleaner spraying around possible leak sources with the engine running like the EGR tube on the intake.

If the idle picks up or stabilizes you found your leak.

Check your PCV system, you may be shocked at what you find.

Check the clean air side on the TB for signs of oil.

I would start with all the easy stuff, clean the MAF,TB and change your plugs and wires.

Get some heat shield sleeves from Summit for your wires if you find any melted from the heat.

I had a bad idle issue just after I put my lts, ory and ls6 intake on. I had to re route the Pcv system because mine fell apart when I was installing those mods. Anywho I got done file line and re routed it. Still had an idle issue. Researched the problem and realized I forgot to install a pcv valve. So I installed it and it idled great. then it started to idle high not nearly as high but not normal

Believe me I have sprayed the whole system down with starting fluid. Intake, pcv system, base of the intake. Torqued intake to spec and in proper sequence.

Plugs and wires are new. If I had a muss wouldn't I notice it? At least in fuel milage? Tb is clean, I have a catch can too.

Could my tune be off? Frost is pretty reputable with his tunes.

I can only go by my experience but my tune from Frost is spot on.

My car shifts perfectly and runs and drives great.

Your car is way down on power compared to other LS1's with the same mods, something is wrong.
