Default First time to the tracks. Slower than expected

Took the car out for the first time to the track last night. My times seem high to me. I realize its my first to the track but I was expecting high 13s to be honest. It was still a blast no matter what I ran but any thoughts on why it ran so slow would be appriciated.

Car is a 99 A4 with 2.73 gears (that doesnt help) and 40k miles. Lid, catback and suspension. Tires are MT ET streets. Traction wasnt an issue really

My two best runs:

60'.... 2.186 60'....2.150
330....6.076 330....6.092
1/8....9.188 1/8....9.219
MPH...78.78 MPH...79.42
1000..11.809 1000..11.851
1/4....14.008 1/4....14.040
MPH...100.12 MPH...103.10

DA = 2310 DA = 2169

What track were you at?

What were your DR's air pressure set at?

Were you leaving off idle or brake torquing it?

Sorry for the Hi Jack.

After 9pm last night I watched everyone else until 11pm.

There was a SSOM 01 or 02 Camaro SS that was running 14.0's at 101mph.

I never got a chance to talk with him.

Now back to the thread.

2.1 60ft did you baby the launch? It seems like drag radials would bring that time down.

He was running slicks and probably dead hooking with 2.73's.

You need a little spin to get the RPM's up when your close to stock.

I was at Empire Raceway near Geneseo

DRs set at 28psi when I left the house. Its a 50 min ride from my house

I was brake torquing it.

My best time was when I spun just a tad off the line. I was starting to think that i might be bogging down not spinning (dead hooking as you mentioned). I wasnt able to get another run in trying from idle.

this is what you need: converter, injectors from an 98 01-02 car, 243 heads, headers, underdrive pulley and tune!! your car mph way too low..

Over the next few years I plan to do full exhaust, heads, cam, built trans and rear. This was more of a base line trip before I start to modify the HP.
