Default Want to run 6.50 1/8 mile what will it take

Im in the process of building my car right now and I want to build it to run in a local 6.50 class. What do you guys think it will take to get my 99 z28 in that area. My mods of right now are ms4 cam, th350 with 4500 stall and Im thinking of putting 4.30 gears. Im trying to find a fast 90 intake. I know im going to have to spray it but I dont know how much. The car also has full suspension. Any input would be appreciated.

Whats it weight?

150 shot should be able to get you there assuming the car would run a 10.99 NA

With your limited amount of imformation I think if the car was gutted it wouldn't have a problem. I went 6.80's with stock front suspension, a 4L60E, @3300 pounds.

it will take between 550-600 hp at 3700 lb range. that is my experience. Probably more depending on your altitude etc

If you go with gas dont go with the 4.30's. My buddies car went a best of 6.46 @ 107 on a 150 shot when he was cam only . It wont be hard but get your race weight as light as you can and get the suspension set up right. good luck...

as stated above, the less weight you have, the easier your ET goal will be. I'm doing something similar with my 99 until next year when i get a new motor built. So far Ive got rid of a/c and heat + all the ducting under the dash and the wind shield wipers and stereo system. One Kirkey seat, Ozite carpet, going to a brake'd th-400 and a 3800 nitrous converter. 12 bolt with 4.10's and a 275/60 DR. Full suspension. Motor will be stock long block, Pat G nitrous cam (similar duration to an MS3) I think i'm close to 3200 lbs and i havent done any cutting yet. Thats my next step.

Some nitrous will put you there, its kind of hard to really know unless we know what your car will run as it sits, and how much it weighs?

I think we all asked for some input in the previous posts and still need some more information to provide a good answer. Weight of the car? Do you only plan to run the 6.50 index or do you plan on running the 1/4 mile? Rear tire size? If it's setup like most other F-bodies I'd say run 4.10's so you can still be optimal in the 1/8th and have the ability to run 1/4 mile.

what does the car weight, I've been 6.50's cam only th400 with 3.73 on a ls6 ported intake. if it's in the low 3000lb range and it's set up good you should be there.

My car is absolutely full weight A/C and all. I have H/C and a 150 shoot and I run 6.5's all day. 4L60e with a FTI 4000 stall, 12-bolt with 3.73 gears and some good traction.

Im getting close with about the same mods and set up just working out the bugs. Ran a 6.77 last weekend on a 125 shot and for some reason the nitrous kept cutting out half of the pass. I hope to be in the 6.5 range when i step up to the 150 shot
