Default Hit the track again, mid 12s...

Last time out I was able to hit a 12.2 at 114 on a 1.87 60'. Density altitude was -500'. Gotta love good air! Today the DA was at 1535', and the best I could do was a couple 12.5s at 112 MPH and two 12.4s at 112 mph. All 60' times were in the high 1.9s. My car is full exhaust, tune, lid with FRA, and 3.73s. Still running the stock stall converter and street tires. I gotta get a bigger stall in this thing. A cam would be nice too.

All 8.0 at 88 MPH and one 8.1 at 87.8 MPH. Good DA makes a huge difference, but my 1/8th mile runs at -500' were only a hair quicker at 7.89-7.98 at 88-89 MPH. Looks like it suffers a lot more on the big end from the DA change.

One other detail. I was pinging over 5500 RPM, had to get gas at an unfamiliar station....not sure how much if at all that effected anything.

As much as I don't feel like it I need to start keeping track of the DA! My car fell off .2 in a week and I don't really know why because I never keep track of it.

Most likely it affects the top end more because the hot air reduces the gains from the ram air setup.

I'm starting to think that's a big reason my car looks lazy on the top end: no cool/ram air

Its just amazing to me that it actually hurts cars as slow as mine. We have a weather station in the race car trailer but I didn't figure I would need it to just go play with this LS1 car.

IIRC a slower car should be even more affected than a real race car. Maybe not as a percentage but in the sheer ET/MPH numbers.

DA is truth. My car at 6,000' would do good to run mid 14s.

It gets very humid during the summer, usually 90-100%. Yesterday was 80 some percent humidity. Hate that kind of heat man....sweat standing in the shade, lol.

Same here! Nobody wants to race until it gets dark.
