Default Tuned my converter so it locks after the 1/8th :)

I was at Atco last night. Air was decent, nothing crazy (156' above sea level according to drag times) Actually the same conditions as my 11.28 pass a few nights ago.

with the converter unlocked, I trapped 118.44mph

Last night with the converter locking somewhere around 96-101mph, i trapped 120.65mph. Thats a 2mph gain Pretty happy with that.

How and why? I thought the whole point was to unlock the converter at WOT? What does locking it (and at that certain speed) do in terms of speed benefit?

What converter? Did you happen to get the slip% unlocked? Did it slip any locked?

Im not going to quote everybody so look for your answers here lol

Circle D Pro stage 1 245mm 4200 stall speed, single disk

Locking the converter (With HP tuners), especially when using a higher stall speed, makes it more effecient up top since there is alot less slip.

I didnt log that pass, but I'll have to check some others and get back to you on the amount of slip, if any, while locked

Its hard to tell what i mightve gained ET wise, as I didnt do back to back runs with it locked/unlocked. I might do that next time just so I can see what the difference is. Definately picked up a solid 2+ mph though

Im gonna make some passes with it next week if the weather's good
