Default Finally touched 11s, 01 A4 SS

Finally got into the 11s today. My mods are in my sig. Just needed some drag radials and a cutout to make it happen. Just wish I had more gear and a bigger stall now, lol. Hoping to run a little better next Friday when its a bit cooler out.

Skip ahead 30-40 seconds...

nice job , congrats with 11's !

RT wont affect your et's but you dont need to wait for the green to leave the tree .9xx RT like you did on that pass will allow a guy who knows how to leave the tree with a 12.80 car beat you to the traps.

you want to get to the point where you can cut a .0xx so slower cars cant hose you.. try shallow staging ( barely get the 2nd set of staging lights to stay on) and leaving on the 3rd yellow and tighten it from there as needed , if your not shallow staging now shallow staging can drop your et's a bit too

Yup that stall is way to small and on the same tire i was cutting 1.61 60ft w/ a bolt-on car.

Thanks guys. Thats all she had on this stall. Its a loose 2800 on the street, but obviously falls short at the track. I left with everything she had. IMO, more gear would help, but I just can't bring myself to spend anymore money on the 10 bolt. It should pull a little stronger 60' in better air, but I doubt it'll be too much better, maybe a 1.70-1.72 if the stars align. The trap is what really concerns me being that I trapped 114 with bolt ons in perfect air. I'd like to see at least a 117-118 out of her now. The stall never locks at WOT which is def costing some trap speed..not sure if its supposed to or if I just need to have tuned to or what? Opinions?

As far as the R/T, I could care less about the guy next to me. I'm only out there to beat my own ETs. I'll definitely give that shallow staging a try though. Appreciate the tip Murph.

Your 1/8th mile slip looks almost like one of mine (unless I get a better launch in the 1.68ft range). My highest trap in the 1/4 in ~1800ft air is 112mph.

seemed real lazy out of the hole and you tapped the rev limiter pretty damn good, id say its got a couple tenths and 1-2 MPH left in it how it sits with some more tuning and launch technique. Of course the stall could be bigger but it depends if you want that on the street, its all personal preference as im sure you know.

Nice run gtospd! You could def use a better converter. The vigilante is a good converter but there are other options such as yank that lock up better and tend to pick up a few mph over the vig. My car ran pretty similar to that a few weeks ago (see sig) but i have a 3200 vig. What do you plan on doing to it next? Im planning to do some suspension mods first to get it hooking better (stock suspension curretnly) and a little fine tuning to see if i can get it in the 11.5 range before i change converters or spray it.

Good job. I think you already know this but your car needs a higher stall.

Appreciate all the comments and advice. I'd like to just do some suspension from now on, mainly shocks/struts and subframes. One of these days I'll get a moser and a built trans, then start looking at some sort of FI.

Talked to my tuner today. He agrees the car should be trapping much higher and 60'ing better. He thinks its more in my tune since I did replaced my bad MAF and descreened the new one. At the same time, a few other things have been rewired (MAF end), new plug wires, plugs, stall, and gears have all been done since he originally tuned it. So long story short, its getting a retune this week. He doesnt want to lock the converter, said it will only create more heat and gain 1-2 mph, not where the issue is in his opinion. He says the car should be pulling 1.6s and trapping over 117. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is all it is.

Which heads, cam, and stall are you running? Also curious how much weight reduction you've done. I'd love to be where you are.

Will do man..

Supposed to be 6500 RPM..

Got my tune revised today. He adjusted all the shifts, fixed the issue with the stall locking at 25-30mph under part throttle, fixed the engine from cutting out every time I rev, leaned it out down low(was way rich at idle), etc. Car runs totally different. Shifts are on time, feels like I never had a tune to begin with. He said to ditch the front sway and that coupled with the retuning should drop it down into the low 1.6s. Going to order some subframes too to stop the twist I'm getting, so that should help the 60 as well. As far as trap, he thinks it will gain 1-2 mph from the adjustments, and of course a little more once it cools off some more. Eager to get back out there and run again.

Got it down to an 11.74, 1.71 60', 7.4 1/8th. Trap is still 92 and 115 though...changes are tune adjustment, subframes, and sway bar disconnected on one end.

Make that 11.66 at 116, 1.67 60'

Not bad MPH for such a simple setup with a small *** stall, do you have a ported TB? UDP? Those little things will help MPH and a better stall (i guess?). Sorry don't know **** about autos lol.

TB is ported, but no UDPs...yea, a good multi disk lockup converter would pick up some trap, but simply going with more stall isn't going to do much but push me further thru my tq curve. I'm almost at peak tq by 3200 rpm, so the 2800 stall has me in a pretty good place.

nice to see you got some of the bugs worked out, knew it would pick up a decent amount. Hows that cam sound at idle? im looking to do a very similar setup but with having no lope at idle.

And like said earlier, with a higher stall converter you could be cutting 1.5 60's, it would be awesome to see your car run 11.40's with such a mild setup.

What compression or CC are you running those 243's at?
