hey guys i need ur opinions!!! i have a 99 ta i went 7.4 with my ls1 heads cam full bolt ons. i blew the motor and now went lq9 same heads same cam same everything. except the converter and exhaust. the ls1 had 5000 stall with true duals 3'' h-pipe. now the 6.0l has 3800 nitrous stall with tsp y pipe magnaflow cat back.

my best on foot brake was 1.6 60 7.4 @ 93 i think don't remember the mph. now with the new set up i went 7.8 with 1.8 60 90 mph and my best 60 last night was on the trans brake and it was 1.78 taking off at 4 grand.

I would put my money on the fact its a lot heavier and the tune would have to be adjusted a little also.

You lost most of your time in the 60' plus the extra 100lbs or so would hurt your mph.

so u say slap the 5k stall back in it the 5k was for a 900 hp car that came with my trans and i slapped it in to see how it went and loved it. i already had the 3800 fti converter there so i put it back on the car too see the difference. the 5000 would stall to like 3600 on foot brake. felt way looser. im just cared of hitting the 5000 with a 200 shot

Isn't the lq9 still lower compression than an ls1?

There's more to it than cubes. Same heads/cam setup will make very similar power but at a lower rpm and more torque with the extra displacement. You also picked up some weight and lost a lot out of the 60ft.

Not with 241 heads. The 317 heads are what cause the compression drop in lq9's.

If you are wanting to run more motor passes I'd say swap converters, but I think itd get too loose on the kit.

that's what im afraid of. don't know if to change exhaust and see if it betters. i don't know why i feel like the exhaust is the one holding me back. the car at a rolling speed doesn't feel like it used to either. the pull is different like it held back the power band isn't as violent as it used to. i went fro true dual 3 in hpipe to single 3 cat back.

Did you get a new tune after you swapped in the 6.0 block? It probably needs to be adjusted.

i have a wide band on all the time. my tuner told me to go laying in to it. reading the wide band and the wide band is 12.5 13.0 when i hooks good. i don't think its in the tune. im going to run the car open header to see if it makes a difference. i seriously think its in the single 3'' exhaust if i see a drastic change with the exhaust. ill change out the exhaust and leave the converter. and go playing with it from there. next time out ill be spraying so i don't want to change out the converter for no reason.

I don't see how it's possible that the tune wouldn't need adjusted when adding 18ci and changing compression lol. But I'm no expert tuner either. I don't know.
