First time ever at the track! YUCK! I'm 18 and went to the track for the first time yesterday. And boy was it uglier then I had thought. My first pass EVER on a strip I ran a 15.8 at 102.7 mph! Da was about 600. My 60' was a saddddd 2.99 and i one wheel peeled halfway doen thr track due to me stopping my burnout still in the water box. My reaction Timr was a .14 which i didnt think was too bad. And then sadly the track shut down due to rain. They gave us all rain checks and I'm going back tomorrow. I have nitto 555 extreme street tires were at 25 psi. Full bolt ons it's an a4 trans with 3.42 gears. I just got done p and p my tb today and boy did it help throttle response

the trap speed says it has mid 13's or so in it , your 60 was terrible on dr's you should be able to lop a second off that easily.
dont do your burnout in the waterbox , drive around the water so you dont get water in your front treads and spraying up underneath the car which will all end up dripping in front of your rears. after you get around the waterbox and back square/straight in your lane back into the waterbox , give it a quick 1 or 2 rotation spin then pull just out of the waterbox and do your burnout there otherwise all the water you sling in your wheel wells will be dripping on your tires when you need them to hook.
proper cool downs with fewer passes but better quality is what i like to do , get there , get through tech , do any track prep like removing spare , disconnect front sway bar , air up front tires etc... with hood open preferably facing into any wind if possible to cool it faster , then where your a newbie leave it parked hood up and go watch people go through burnout , staging ,etc and watch what they are doing especially the ones that seem to have their stuff together then go get your car and give it a whirl , only run the car to advance forward dont let it sit and idle in staging lanes and open the hood to cool it whenever safe & practical ( watch what others are doing you will see some hoods up on cars in lanes that wont move for a while) at 600 da you should be trapping around 110 with full bolt ons + or - a couple mph Maybe you were heat soaked if you drove in made a pass right away then they shut down.
Also was the da 600 ft or os the tracks altitude 600ft ? usually DA sucks right before it rains due to high relative humidity - weather has a huge impact on et's play around with an online DA calculator just plugging in values to get an idea but generally the cooler & drier the better.
Your reaction time has no bearing on et but does have a bearing on beating the guy in the lane next to you to the traps , google "shallow staging" and learn how to do it , it will drop your et a bit...

i bet i will trap 106+ just with traction.... I always gain a lil mph when i hook harder despite what everyone else says.... he blew the tires off soooo bad,, there is NO WAY he could even get a decent mph out of it...

Yeah I'm definitely needing more seat time. It rained all day today so I'm hoping to go back Friday now. But I'm still not happy with my mph one bit! I figured I'd trap much higher..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you are running street tires, you shouldn't be burning out in the water box at all. Just go around the water and hit it to get the rocks and dirt off the tires. Don't try to stall the car up too much, 1500 rpm should be enough and go from there.

Nothing bothers me more than people doing their burn out in the water box. It coats the well with water and wets the rest of the burn out area. So, on your next pass:
-DO NOT got through the water, don't even back up into the water box
-Do a light burn out
-Launch light, do not try to stall it at all because you have no traction to begin with
-Once you get to around the 60' mark you can get into it, unless you feel you have traction sooner
-it sounded like it may have shifted into 2nd while spinning? Then bogged down BAD. So if you cant control your spin you may need to manual shift it so it doesn't try to go into 2nd while spinning.

UPDATE!!!: JUST RAN MY CAR! Best pass was a 13.21 at 105.8! Da was +900 ft Had a 2.0 60' on my street tires. They hooked great once I heated them up good and went around the water box! Was hardly feathering any before I could go full throttle! I was happy with how well the tires hooked! My best 60' was a 1.99 but not my fastest et.. But i couldn't seem to get my 60' down any! I really should have been bench racing it though all like 8 passes I ran 13.2sss! Lol
