Default First pass: 14.503 Help!

Ran my first pass last night at the track! Never been so nervous in a car in my life! But man, was it badass! Made the new-guy mistake of getting tech'd and finding out my tank top wouldn't work (needed sleeves), my shorts wouldn't work (need pants), and my t-tops required a helmet! Had to drive back home!

Then I pulled up to the tree (after taking a friends advice to launch)... tires immediately started spinning and I had to let off. And then on my second to third shift.. something happened! I went to put it into third and my transmission hit a wall and wouldn't go into gear! I immediately smelled burnt clutch and then just put it into neutral. It shifted fine and way, way better after that. Car has 44k miles and had never been raced, any idea what happened?
My next pass was problem free!

Next pass results:
r/t .663
60' 2.492
1/8 9.615
ET 14.503
MPH 100.79

Help me get faster and launch this M6! Mods in sig and thanks!

Launching an M6 takes lots of practice. Have to find that sweet spot that your car likes. Launching too low, it will bog and too high it will smoke the tires. Getting locked out of gear at high rpm's is normal for stock clutch. Need to upgrade to Tick MC and maybe time for clutch upgrade also. It takes some seat time. I've only been to the track in mine twice. Once to an 1/8 mile and once to a 1/4 mile.

Launch like you're taking off from a stop light. On street tires you'll have to slip the clutch pretty good.

Thanks for the help guys!

What do you mean slip the clutch? And you said I need a new clutch and MC?

You may be fine on the clutch for now. The MC will help shifting at high rpm's. Do a search on here for tick master cylinder and you see will see great results.
