Default New PB - Bolt on SS with street tires.

Ok so I've been modding my 2000 SS and running the car after to see the improvements. Previously the car ran a 8.24 @ 86 on street tires with 275/40 all the way around on heavy 17x9 ZR1s...

Heres my specs:
Stock LS1 136K miles
Currently running Diablo tune.
"Full Bolt ons"
LS6 intake
Ported TB
SLP Lid
Aluminum ram air shroud under air intake (not sure of name)
EGR delete
Long tubes
Off road 3" X pipe
Race bullets
Stock 60e with cooler and vette servo
TCI 3500 Super street fighter stall
Stock rear with stock 3.23 gears
UMI LCAs
UMI panhard
UMI SFCs
UMI Strut tower brace
UMI Adj Torque arm
No weight reduction, even has a stereo installed.

I just got new skinnies for the front but haven't got the rears yet. They are 15x3.75" Race stars. The street tires on the rear are 17x9" Chrome ZR1s with 275/40 BFG Sport comp II tires.

I took it yesterday to see how big of a difference the fronts would make alone, along with some cooler air. I spun every pass but managed to hook good once. The track was cooling down so it just got worse from there.

Here's my best slip. I think it runs pretty good for being on a street tire.

works out to about a 12.7 1/4 mile.

Drag radials would help you drop a couple tenths , a real tune a couple more easily.

I have 2 bolt on cars (243k M6 , 172K stalled auto) good dr's and both cars hp tuned. 11.9 & 12.1 respectively, no skinnies , less suspension mods than you but in northeast negative da air - I think you would be right there with sticky tires and a better tune than the handheld can provide along with some good air.

Yes I know a real tune would help. I actually had it tuned by a friend who has done about 100 or more but My trans was acting up after and I was afraid id burn it up so I put my handheld tune back on it and firmed everything up and turned down shift times. He can tune no problems but for some reason we couldnt get it to act right. The trans just felt sloppy and shifting so slow.

Good runs. I'm looking forward to getting back to the track with 3.42's and a U/D pulley. Still stock stall. I should be able to run 12's.
