12.51 BTR stage 3 cam
ok so got to go to the track with my setup. It's got pacesetter headers, y-pipe, flowmaster muffler, fast toys lid, fast 36# injectors, ported throttle body, stock ls1 intake, 853 heads 3800 revmax converter, and a BTR stage 3 N/A cam with a tune by Mike Norris and a hurt rearend with 3.73's on 17" ET street. the car made 346rwhp on Norris dyno. the car ran a 12.51 @ 107.01 with a 1.71 60'.Not the best I know but this was the first pass with this car. Now is the tune possibly off on the car or is the intake an dheads really holding it back that much?

I got the car the way it is everything had 6k on it when I bought it so I couldn't really hit 11s with bolt ons haha. The y-pipe is not catted the specs are 231/242 .617"/.592" 112+2. I kind of figured it was off... like I said I bought the car off a guy I knew and after Norris tuned it. What about the ls1 intake? Egr is gone off course. Also could it be the converter?

Ya it seems to be shifting the way it should I thought about having some one else look at the tune but last I knew Norris knew what he was doing but who knows I guess. I've been told these converters aren't the best to begin with but didn't really have a choice haha. What brand converter would you look into?

I'm running a FTI converter in my 02 z and love it.
Yea I don't know nothing about Norris tuning so I can't knock it or praise it. But it wouldn't hurt to have it looked over IMO
Circle d and Yank also have good converters as well. Any of those three is good choice IMO.
What rearend issues are you having ?

the thing that jumps out to me on your timeslip besides your low 1/4 trap is that you only picked up 21mph between 1/8 mile trap and 1/4 mile trap with a cammed setup. 330 to 660 looks a bit weak too... Your 60 foot is good enough to go 11's your problem is low on power down the track , some stock cars have trapped 107
I doubt your rear end has any effect on it running low traps . my 3600 stalled stock internals a4 car has a badly whining 373 rear end as well with a crap load of backlash , 1.7 60 foot like you but went 12.1 @112 missing and spitting by the 1000 foot mark due to bad fuel pump , my stock internals M6 car made 11.9's on 1.7 60 foots.
do you have a wideband on the car ? any misfires or knock retard going on ? hanging 2nd gear on the limiter until you lift to shift ? anything out of the ordinary to give you a clue ?

No wide band on the car but when it was tuned and then put on the other dyno for a dyno day the air to fuel was 12.9 on all three pulls and no misfires or anything like that and 2nd gear doesn't hang or go to limiter. And nothing seems to be out of the ordinary that's why we are all stumped
