Default Fastest times on a hard tire? (non drag radial)

Been doing a lot of testing with my 08 Corvette and was wanting to know what kind of times others are able to get at the dragstrip on normal street tires? My cars simply got headers, catles x pipe, vararam cai, and a small dry nitrous shot on a set of hankook ventura tires. How fast have you guys been on similar tires?

1.65 60'!!! I am extremely impressed you are doing that with a street tire! I guess that's mostly credited to the independent rear and the transaxle which puts more weight on the back of the car. (I'm used to solid axle cars). Is it safe to assume they also do a great job prepping that track? Are you doing a heavy or a light burnout?

Im new to irs cars also and have been surprised. The tracks are prepped decently well and i dont get any water on the tires at all i just stomp it once to clean them off. The car dead hooks on motor on those tires (auto with a 2.56 rear gear) and i run the nitrous on a delay. If weather holds out im going back tomorrow and going to try leaving with nitrous being progressed in.

I'm in upper south carolina. There's only one local track that's in Shelby nc that is still open in Sunday's for test and tune. Btw that time was with a DA of 297 so very good conditions. I've just been so surprised with how this car runs so lightly modded. Sticky tires and a stall and this thing would be a rocket.

I'd love to know some of the tricks too! We have a couple hard tire classes locally now. What else do I need beside soaking the tires in kerosene then VHT?

I bow down to you sir. I've been trying to run on a hard tire for two seasons now, I've decided that I just can't do it. Will be moving to a drag radial before the next track day. This is from this past weekend.

It was solely to prove a point. I was told my car could never make it down the track on a street tire. Lots of **** talking in our local car scene. Found a local "hard tire" race at Byron dragway. tire had to be over 300 tread wear. full interior, street car, license and plated ect. next we found the smallest street tire I could find. Then I proceeded to take out 32 cars and take the win in the final with the smallest tire in the class. I borrowed scales and scaled the car moving weight around, Car has the best of everything for suspension. race craft parts and double adjustable custom valved afco shocks. Lots of testing to get this done but I will say it can not be done without a progressive controller. we had the car leaving like a turbo car lol. I started the testing on the street on a blacktop road. we had the car almost making 9 sec passes down the damn road by the time I was done. we ran an 600hp Mitsubishi EVO 10 on the street the week before for some cash and destroyed him. Its a good hustle when your on a 7" wide all season lol.

Hats off to you man! You suspension must really be top notch, and your car must be making stupid power to be able to neck it down enough to keep traction....and still dip into the 9s. And with a crazy trap to top it off!

The car makes amazing power for what it is, but I had to put small jets in the kit. even at that it was at the edge of not working. I don't think i could have put another 25hp into it, it would have blown the tires off.

02 F Body, Full Weight, Full Interior, 3620 with me in it. Stock other than headers. A4 3500 stall. Tubular Rear everything, stock sway bar, competition engineering 3 way adjustable rear shocks, 245 Goodyear sport comp all seasons at a no prep event, 1.83 60'

Hope to get it into the 1.7's before adding any more power to the engine
