Cool Back from the track

No tens today but still had a good time!

Ran same setup as last weekend. Air felt really humid this morning but the temps were still pretty cool.

10mph direct crosswind
DA: 1291
Raceweight: ~3620

Ran at a different track today (TMP - Toronto Motorsports Park)

Track was NOT hooking for me today. St. Thomas has been hooking MUCH better.

Best sixty today was a 1.595 versus a 1.52 last weekend. Ran 1.60, 1.70, 1.595 etc today

Best time was
1.595 sixty
7.19
97.80mph
11.22
123.8mph

Ran a whole string of 11.20 times: 11.22, 11.23, 11.24 all in the ~123mph range.

Lots of folks out, most people seemed down ~2mph and 2 tenths to last weekend.

Denntech (white Vette) ran some AWESOME times.
I'll let him post his results.

Also met a couple guys from the board and a couple other new folks as well. Jim, Shannon, Mike, Claudio, Ian were all out.

Plan for the car now is to work on the suspension for the spring. I WANT a high 1.3 to LOW 1.4 sixty in the spring

I think I can still hit a high 10 in the car this year if I can get out to grand bend on a nice weather day. That track HOOKS!! (They were closed this weekend)

Anyways it was a fun day and I am pretty much over my flu which is good.

We had fun on the way home. Four of us convoyed back and Mike was behind me. When I was passing cars on the two lane I was lighting the street tires up in third and hazing them all through fourth.

He said it was quite a wild sight LOL!

Thanks man

hehe 10's before the end of this season would be awesome. Just need a 1.49 or quicker sixty.

If I didn't have to worry about those damn MOE (Ministry of environment)checkpoints with their mobile emissions dynos I'd have 10s now!

Those cats cost me almost 20RWHP on the dyno...

You and I both have the mph for 10.60's just need the right track and the right suspension work to get in the 1.3-1.4 sixty range...

I think my slicks are wearing out...I can't find anything faster than a 1.52 to save my life (on 26x10x15 slicks)

I just ordered some 28x9x15 slicks...gonna try out the 27.3" diameter

Those are the exact same slicks I am running right now. 1.52 last weekend with them and a 1.54 on my 11.10@125mph pass.

They work great. I have a fair bit of squatting to the right with the suspension. Need to get the airbag back in. Been sick all week and havent been able to touch the car.

Going to look at Spohn upgraded rear swaybar (not solid) and the airbag. Hal shocks and springs should help too.

I should fly Madman up here and have him work his magic. Maybe do a track rental and have a group of us get suspension tuning from him

Hey Chris

I just put a Spohn sway bar in mine. It is freakin nice. If you do spring for one don't bother putting the air bag back in. This does the job of the airbag.
You can preload the right side (or left lol) with the swaybar. It is easy to adjust too.

Dropped a 10th of my 60' BTW and that was changing from a 1" OEM style swaybar to the 1 5/16" adjustable.
It looks baddass as well.
I just need to get some shocks n springs on the front now.

Take those cats out man! You are definately flyin at that weight. You will see some tens before the end of the season. Keep trying!

Thanks Brad

How is drivability with that swaybar? What did you pay for it and how hard was it to setup?

Thanks

Driveability is good. Well as good as it gets with Hoosier QTPs n skinnies. It definately stiffened things up that is for sure. Hard to tell there is no swaybar in the front. It drives alot better.

I did a cam install as a trade so no money out of pocket for me. I think it was 365 shipped.

Definately worth the money. I will go n snap some pics if ya want.

Nice times Chris. Fall is just around the corner. These cars will fly

I went with the Wolfe sway bar. It works great. The SS leaves straight and level. Stiff as all hell, but it helped drop the 60' by at least .05. What is one person driveability is not another person's.
