Default Question for Cam only guys.

Ok I have a 2000 car and was wondering if I could change my heads to stock 02 heads and still be cam only??? I heard that the 02 heads flow better than the 2000's

I don't see why not but if you're going to go through the trouble why not just get some ported heads? Sure you wouldn't be cam only any more but you'd still be on the stock bottom end. I think that record is 10.37. With a really good set of heads and the right cam you might be close to that in good weather and with some more weight reduction. Aren't you close to 3400 lbs still?

Well then your times are very impressive.
Go grab some tools and start removing stuff.

I bet it wouldn't be hard for you to dip into the high 10's with your current set up.

I would think so. And with some people getting valve jobs and still claiming cam-only you should do that too...

You might be better off putting that money towards a FAST set up. I'd say your heads are flowing pretty well based on your SI times. On the other hand, it would be interesting to see if you pick up anything switching to 241 castings. I'd like to see you make one more trip to the 1/4 mile before making changes.

My 2000 Camaro came factory with 241's, a bunch if not all of the cars built in may-june '00 came with 241's stock, so i think it would be OK & and if not who could prove yours didnt have them from the factory?

I am cam only and love it. Baby cam to be exact but I will be forging the bottom end before I add heads. If you go cam only, that adds to the fun and will even you up. Some cam only cars here are running mid 11's.

Mine's a sleeper you can't even hear my cam at idle.

See, you can get it done

Thing is, you don't expect my car to take off like it does on the street being and unsuspecting challenger.

It's fun especially when you hook like do.
