1st points race of the year report!
Well, we started off the 2005 season at Lone Star Raceway Park with alot of highs and some lows.
1st the highs;
I was killing the tree. My reaction times were .005, .022, .026, .029 and .026 and .024. 4 out of these 6 runs we ran our dial(6.58) with some numbers.
Now for the best of all. I got to race my Dad 1st round. This has always been a life long dream of mine!
The Old man did pretty good. He cut a .026 to my .022 reaction time. He broke out 7.35 on a 7.50(Madman and I didn't know what to dail him. He was still trying to get use to driving the car). On the second tech card my Dad finally figure the car out and ran a 7.05 @ 96 mph.
My package on this run was a .022 light and ran a 6.58 with a 4 on a 6.58 dial in. Sorry Pop!
Now for the bad;
My 1st tech card, I went out in the 3rd round. I was racing George(he works at my high school). I got him on the tree and at the top end I broke out with a 6.55 with a 9 on a 6.58. Madman and I could figure out why the car sped up. She ran faster from the 60 foot to the 330.
On my 2nd tech card I also lost in the 3rd round(this was my points card). I cut a a .024 light to the other guys .067. When the car launched she went straight for the wall. I had to get out of it. When she straighten up, I got back on her to run a 6.82 on a 6.56 dial( WOW, I can real close to the wall) The other guy ran a 6.63 on a 6.60 dial. Damn it, My night was over.
We don't know exactly what made the car move to the right so violently. Madman had me lined up straight . We don't think we broke anything. Maybe it was one of those "thats bracket racing deals".
Next race will be this next Saturday at HRP(1st points race of the year). Looking forward to see what the Hot Rod will do in the 1/4 mile with the winter changes.
Lyndia and Clint, Thanks for the key. Madman, thanks for helping out my Dad.
Well until next week,
Coach

Looks like you are dialed in to the tree, and the car is doing its job most of the time with a little luck you will have a better outing next time. I do not know what it was but my 2002 SS would speed up at the strangest times, somtimes as much as a half a 1/10th. So far that does not seem to be the case with my 2000 formula, so far it is deadly consistant, if the driver does his job it has not made any unexplainable runs. The SS on the other hand was the break out King and is seemed to always happen on the 4th or 5th pass. I usually try to dial what the car will run and run it out the back door and that car would make you regret it every now and then. And by the way if you win every week no one will want to play with you.

Dad and I will stay away from each othe from now on. It was still very cool to race my Dad.
Rodney, Yes we moved into our new house we had built back in September. Missouri City is right next to Sugarland.

Great job on the tree Coach!!!! Seems like the car is runnin pretty consistent, always a good thing!!! I can't wait for my dad to make it down here one day and come racing with me!!! He hasn't seen my car since it was stock with a cutout when I moved here about 3 years ago!!!! Boy is he gonna freak when he gets to see and here her in person!!!! He's actually takin the kids to orlando in april, and i'm contemplating grabbin a uhaul trailer and takin the car up to OSW with him for a T&T, gotta find out when their T&T nights are though and see if he wants to do it.
