Race results
Now that I've been running solid 9's I decided to try my hand at a local event that's been running for a couple years now. It's called the No Bull Nationals and the basis of it is a 20 mile cruise, heads up, run watcha brung race. The only requirement is that the car has mufflers and doesn't stop on the cruise (tail car passes and you're out). There's some really fast cars with some that regularly click off 8's. However the track can often be the great equalizer as it tends to be quite slick. This year they've added a points system and are running 7 races.
I ended up getting put on the trailer in the second round. The loss was a painful one as I didn't adjust my set-up to the changing track conditions and blew the tires off. I should have known better with this being my home track Hopefully I won't make the same mistake again.
Here's the write up of the full coverage - http://www.nobullnationals.com/feb05.html

Devon, get that new bullet and let's go!
Coach, Honestly many guys, including myself, are just happy to go one round. The blind draw will make you hold your breath. Susan's BMW with the blown big block is a regular in Super Pro points and she go's 8.70s! Then there's Bull with his nitrous fed big block 68 Camaro convertable that NEVER does more than a dry hop for his burnout, never spins and his car goes bottom 9's all day. Not sure what Tony from Jax has for his current bullet, but the last one was a 514 with a big shot of gas and a parachute.
The good thing for me is making one round in the first race only puts 5 cars ahead of me in the points (tie for 6-9). Bad news is there's some conflicts with another series that will keep me from making all the races. I've gotta say that one of the coolest parts is making a 20 mile cruise with 18 heavy loping cars that can cause some serious ear drum damage

congrats on making at least one round Eric. I've heard about this race, and Tony from HP Performance was shaking down his new pink stang in Gainesville a few times earlier this year. He said it has a tighter convertor and less gearing than the previous combo for an "easier" launch, and has rumored to have pulled a few 8.80's already. I heard he did well at the first no-bull race.

Eric. Still damn nice run. To bad about the 2nd round. Live and learn I guess. What time did you run in the 1st round?
They did miss the best part of the race -- a picture of your car
Good luck on the next race.
We still don't even know if we have a track or not I guess it's going to be a 200 mile one way trip every weekend.

Tom,
The launch pic in your sig is sweet!!! I hate to rub you northern guys the wrong way but my only problem is choosing which races to run in. I've got two different points races on the same day coming up

Wanna trade places? You have a car to run, while mine is still in pieces and I go to the track to watch others race! Damn aftermarket crap that never fits right
Eric,

Derek,
There's 3 series I'm looking at right now, but only 1 that I'll make all the races. OSW Div 2 brackets is gonna kill me this year. With the t-brake, it put's me in Super Pro electonics and I don't have a box. Your track has the Open Comp I'd like to run a few times, but that's just a will see.
