Default Never posted my crappy times at the track

i keep seeing stock cars running times i ran with mods and found i never posted my times to see what could be wrong.

Car: 1998 SS camaro m6 ~60k mi
Mods: Pacesetter coated race LTs, offroad Y, Cutout, clear lid, K&N, short stick, LCAs
tires: Kumho 275/40ZR17

date: 7-23-04
60ft: 2.224
330ft: 5.980
1/8mi: 8.985@82.100
1/4mi: 13.732 @ 103.960mph

Ran it at milan dragway in michigan, weather was good in the 60s, 50% humid. ran it late at night in the cool weather. this was on the stock clutch, clutch seemed to hold fine, the only thing the clutch didnt like was raising the rpms up and dropping it hense the shitty 60ft. this was only achieved powershifting, without powershifting i was running like 13.8s+ even some 14.0s. besides the 60ft my car felt damn strong. im just trying to figure if the 2.2 60ft is the reason why i could only run 13.7s. on a side note i did make it to 5th rounds of eliminations and lost against the #1 guy cuz i BARELY redlighted, i was cutting amazing reaction times i consider myself a good driver, so im thinking its either solely my 60ft, or the clutch wasnt grabbing all the way, or my car sucks, lol. i dynoed 315/329 with that setup in hot humid weather. thanks for any input

Thumbs up

if youre serious about racing, thats one of the first things that should be done, is some sticky tires. that 60ft is terrible. altho, being that its an m6 car, ive seen plenty of m6's launch perfectly fine on street tires, someone else will have to chime in here, cause i dont have an m6 myself. but other than that, did you just get a dyno, or was it a dyno with a tune. if not, i would seriously consider a professional tune, especially after the long tubes, those are known to rob power for the most part, without a proper tune. hope this helps, i had to see a guy with a modded ls1 get high 13's.

yeah just seems like a lot of ppl with same mods and 60ft times are getting way better ets. that was with no tune, i installed a cam and ls6 intake on it since then and am working on tuning it soon. im also putting in a stage 3f clutch this weekend with billet flywheel. im hoping next time at the track i run closer times to what i should be for my mods. just hoping that there isnt something lacking in the engine department that was slowing me down and hoping it was just that the clutch wasnt up to the task was the reason for the bad times though i had no burnt clutch smell.

Put Fresh Plugs In, Get A Tune, And Get Some Drag Radials And You Should Be Hitting A Very Low 13 If Not A 12.9 If You Pick Up Some From The Tune.

well regardless of 60', which is could be due to crappy launch, street tires, bad track prep, etc ... your mph is very low for your mods ... stock ls1's are usually in the 105mph area ... i've seen several ls1's with nittos being the only other mod runnin over a second quicker and 6-8mph faster ... maybe you're runnin at a really horrible da and if not that then something just not right with your car and i'd have it looked over by an expert

thats exactly what i was thinking. put new plugs in with the longtubes. i run at milan dragway in michigan, i think its like sea level, not sure. the power was there on the dyno so its probably just the clutch right?

What kind of cam did you install? Your car seems pretty low on the power scale. I ran 12.844@111.5 with SLP flowpac, lid, lingenfelter intake and SLP exhaust.
