Default Very disapointing times. Please Help

I got a 2004 gto. It has the tsp 231/327 cam, kooks long tubes, dyno tune, magnaflow mufflers, speed inc. CAI, and TCI 3500 stall. The car made 365 rwhp. The car ran 14.03 at 99.63. No hitting rev limiter and had a .063 reaction. Seems like it should run faster. The only thing is I put 109 octane gas in it at the track. Did that mess me up? Also seems like the stall is gone. Can you please help or give opions. Thanks

What's was your 60' times??? If they are over 2.0 with that converter your probably just spinning your et away. I wouldn't run that gas either, Just refill it & reset your computer. That might of put you in the low octaine table (knock)?

The 60' times where 2.0968. Havent noticed any knocks or any problem. It doesnt seem to pull as good now with that gas.

I'm pretty sure running 109 octane isn't good for your set-up. Hope you get it figured out! I think with your mods and a drag radial you would be good for 12.50's or better.

We ran at Amarillo(texas) dragway , the track was closed so we never got to run stock. Going to run out all the gas out and reset computer and see what happens next time. Thanks for all the reply's guys.

i would say that 109 octane is going to kill your power. just put reguler 92 or 93 in it. 109 is gonna burn slower.

I have to ease into the pedal to catch any traction in 1st(without that gas). With that gas it wouldnt even turn the tires. Actually thought the gas would help. So i put it in.

Get some drag radials-easing into the throttle with a good converter like that is killing your et. Put some drag radials on there and let 'er rip!

Well the drag radals will be next thing to buy. Thanks for all the replys guys. Ran that gas out the (we have self service tuesdays at the gas station) guy put unleaded gas in the car. Runs better even with unleaded. Now I got to run that out and get the better gas in.

That is what I have to do, and it doesn't seem to be killing my 60's or ET. If I don't do that, I go sideways and run 13s. And yes I have drag radials.

That still doesn't explain his trap speed. Something else is going on.

i second that. 99mph is pretty bad- no matter how much you spin. bad tuning, HORRIBLE driving (not sure it is possible to drive an auto bad enough) or really bad knock retard killing the power. almost like the car is in limp mode on the low-octane timing table performing like that.

that car needs to be logged and tuned pronto!!

Well it has been tuned by tsp twice. I think the timing is set at 19 degrees. Any opinions on what it should be at.

You kind of lost me here. Don't you normally run unleaded gas in the car? Who sells leaded gas in the states anymore besides race gas? So the 109 octane was leaded I take it. It was probably playing havok on your O2 sensors. Your saying that after you put the gas in the car, you could'nt even spin the tires, what does that tell you? Surprised you didn't set off any codes.

Anyway, if you not detonating on pump gas, don't use high octane gas, it's not needed!

Are you sure about the 19* timing? That seems pretty low but I'm not sure about 04' GTO's. It should be around 26-28* in most LS1's depending on different mods, etc..

Good luck next time out!

Dan

I agree with DanZ28. I forgot that 109 octane was leaded, that is going to screw up your oxygen sensors. 19* seems a bit low, was this a dyno tune or a mail-order tune?
