Default heads and cam times!!

well just got in from first time out at the track with the car since the new combo. I am having trouble with my shifting, but the power is deffinately there.

tsp 233/239 cam
prc stage 2.5s
tsp mail order tune

1st run
12.4@118
2nd run...
12.17@122
3rd run
12.14@123

again having trouble shifting every run...am going to flush clutch system tomorrow and do the drill mod, only started having problems since the rev limiter was raised(6800).. never tried runnning N20..want to get shifting issues worked out first.

Awesome mph I wish I had 122. I'm hoping to scratch a 118-119 since the 228/228 and vig. 3600 went in.

Good luck man.

That is awsome mph for your weight. mine is heavy to and with 420 at the rear wheels and shifting right , mine only trapped 121. YOu have 440+ at the rear wheels. Congrats.

Congrats on the MPH.

You said it wasn't the tires?? 1.79 60' with that power isn't right. You really need to get a better set of tires. What rpm's are you launching at?? With 122mph you should be running mid to low 11's. Get the clutch issue resolved ASAP. No reason to hurt anything else.

Good luck

David

the reason thbat I am happy with the 60fts is that I am still on a stock rear. I know with the power it could be way better, but I am happy with them for now. By the way got the clutch issues worked out. I removed the master cylinder and did the drill mod and also flushed the sytem while I was in there. Put new fluid in and bled the slave....Wow what a difference I can shift like crazy now at any rpm, also shifts much better just driving regular..So I should get back to the track this week to get a full pass in on the motor and a juiced run...will let you all know..by the way all of those runs were on motor only.

who is PRC? seems to be a strong package you have there. I'd get a 12 bolt real fast, its only a matter of time before that rear lets go.

PRC= Precision race components, I had never heard of them either until I talked to Jason at Texas speed. He spoke very highly of them, and steered me away from the Patriots, so I gave them a shot, glad I did.

what elevation are you running at? Do you have any plans to try and drop some weight off the car or this just a fun cruiser you may take the the track a couple times a year?

Was heading to the track today(weds) and I thought I heard what sounded to be a bit of detonation, so I thought maybe just had some crappy gas. Well I filled the tank to 3/4 and drove a ways. I did a 2nd through 4th wide open run and when I slowed down...sure enough...had a horrible rod knock. Haven't pulled anyhting apart yet, but my thoughts are that I have spun a bearing. Looks like its time for a better bottm end now, just didn't think it was going to happen so soon. Guess I will be calling the guys at Texas Speed today.
