Default Results: Fontana Private Track Rental

Sorry for not posting sooner guys, and I saw a couple of local guys out there running very good! We got there late, after 5PM, we left Burbank at 2:30PM but traffic sucked! We got the car unloaded and ready to make three initial passes. First run out (and on a pro-light) Jen time slip looked like this:

RT - -.048 (red light)
60' - 1.653
330' - 4.606
1/8 - 7.115
MPH - 97.74
1000' - 9.309
1/4 - 11.171
MPH - 121.18

The idle kept surging up to 3000 RPMs and caused the transbrake to push through the lights. I changed it to an older program and she went again, this was how her second slip went:

RT - .125
60' - 1.654
330' - 4.640
1/8 - 7.174
MPH - 96.71
1000' - 9.389
1/4 - 11.265
MPH - 120.38

As you can tell, that program wasn't as "hot" as the first one. She quickly lines up for another pass. At the burnout box, while waiting for the clean up of rubber at the line, she gets ready for her burnout. I noticed she rolls forward a little. Then she waves me over to her. She has no brakes at all! I drive it to the pits very slowly, turns out the passenger's side brake line ruptured! I am so thankfull it happened at the burnout box and not the top end! We managed to get the car on the trailer, with help from some friends (Thanks Micah and crew! ), and the brake line is being changed. So our day was cut very short. We could have had a 10 second pass, but it wasn't meant to be. I am going to be putting back the E-brake for safety reasons (anybody have one I can purchase?).

The track wasn't really hooking for us, as you can see, but a lot of guys were running new bests.

Default Results for 3/25 Fontana private track day

The car is currently making 440rwhp and 430 rwtq

It has Magnaflow Exhaust and a box stock I/C Magnacharger set-up.(No tuning or pulley swap) Other than that the car is as delivered from Chevrolet.

I took it to a private track day out at Fontana this past friday and was pleased with the times.

I ran it with 1/2 tank of gas with zero weight reduction.

1,000 ft DA

There was a 10-15 mph headwind most of the night.

First two passes were on street tires:

12.52/12.59@118.5 (2.15 60ft on Run craps) the car would get scary on the 1-2 shift I had to lift to avoid the center line.(2 vipers lost it earlier and crashed so track prep wasn't amazing)

I said screw that and put on some 17" ET Streets mounted on ZR1's.

First pass with a minor burnout and a 2,000 rpm launch netted me a 11.95@119.2 (1.89 60ft)

I then decided to get a little more agressive.I lowerd the tire pressure to 14psi and did a nice burn-out.II then launched at 3,500 rpm's and cut a 1.71 60ft!Went for second gear and it just wasn't there!(Grind-grind)I figured this would have been a 11.5 or so if I was able to find all the gears down the track.

I let the car/clutch cool for an hour and decided to get back out there.

I ran 5 times in a row since the traffic had all but stopped and was able to improve everytime while babying the car off the line.

I ran 3 11.9's and then ran 2 11.8's before I decided to pack it up for the evening.

Best pass was 11.82@120 (1.8960ft)

I think the car has a 11.4@122 in it with some tuning and a better clutch.

I am very pleased with the car and the Magnacharger set-up I don't think there was anyother cars there that went into the 11's while getting over 30mpg on the drive up!
