Default Report-Drove Dads car!

Afternoon everyone. This race report comes to with sadness and Coolness.

1st the sadness-my car has issues again. We will have it fixed by this weekend. I am racing at the Super Chevy show in San Antonio. $1,000.00 to win Saturday and $1, 500.00 to win Sunday. Also, the weekend after we have the I10 series race at San Antonio(Iam in 6th place over all).

Now the Coolness. With my car issues, Dad said why don't you run my car Son? I said cool since I am in a points race. I have been wanting to race Dads car. I got 2 time trails. 1st one ran a 10.95 with a 2 at 122.79 mph. My reaction time SUCKED big time, .131(.631 light). Second hit, the car ran a 11.001 @ 122.68. Reaction time-.003. I had a hard time staging the car. It is surging really bad. I need to get this thing a tune.

1st round we dialed a 10.94. The other guy at a 10.58. He cuts a .048 light to my horendous .121 light. He came around me at the top end but dumped to much and I won with a 10.94 with a 8 to his 10.67(you never know in bracket racing).

2nd round I red lighted with a -.002. I was dialed a 10.93 and ran a 10.99. Need to work on dads car. Remove alot of weight. I weight the car in at 3515 with me in. Most important thing that needs to be done is tuning.

We will get everything fixed and be back at the track again this weekend.

Thanks for reading,
Coach

if anyone has a way to host vids I got them.

Takes a while to get use to a whole new car. Your dad will get it down. Think you will just raise the rpms a little or do something else to keep it from surging after the burnout?

Still cant believe the car weighs that much, but I guess Clint and I are smaller scale compared to you and your dad. We are only about 5'8" at best. Car still runs pretty dang good though. Still kicks off 10's in not the greatest of weather with over 3500# raceweight

Hope to see you guys out again soon.

Thanks Lynda,

I think we are going to pull the y-pipe off and just put on bullets mufflers and pull the A/C out this week. Dad and I are going to make this car a track only car now. I am also going to change the racing seat to a JAZ seat. My head was hitting the roof of the car with my helmet on. We will get the car in for some tuning next week and everything should be fine.

My Hot Rod will be back together today.

Sweet, will you be bringing dad's car to Super Chevy??

Should be able to get some money for that X-pipe setup, it's a really nice one for those Pacesetters, and also that Corbeau seat too

What is your raceweight with your '02 Z on average?

Dad is going to sit out this weekend but we both will be back to SRP on April 30th for the I10 series race.

I will put up the x-pipe, A/C and Corbeau seat up for sell in the next couple of days.

Race weight (me in the car and a full tank of racing fuel) is 3180.

Sorry to hear about your luck Coach.

The racing gods haven't been too kind to me this year so far as after 3 races I'm 1-4 win-loss after 5 rounds, and a distant 30-something in points.

Sometimes you need a little struggle to make you want to win more I think. Good luck getting back after it!
