Default Funday Sunday at OSW today....

Air was "OK" this morning, but the limited us to 1/8 mile pases for safety. Got a new best 60' - 1.767, and best 1/8 on the same pass - 7.901

By the time we were able to run full 1/4 mile passes, it was hotter than hell & so humid you could cut it w/ a damn knife. Did a slightly different burn out/launch technique and was slapped in the face w/ a 1.86 60 ft and a 12.55 @ 109 pass.

After letting the car sit and cool for about an hour, I said "eff it, time to go ***** out." Was rewarded w/ a 11.685 @ 118.24 pass on a 1.804 60ft. Next pass, on advice of a fellow LS1 owner that shall go un named... ::cough::Lou::Cough:: I decided to grab the kit right out of the hole... spun like crazy. 1.823 60 ft, 12.026 116.39. Next pass I went back to hitting it 10-15 feet out, but I started to run out of sauce in 3rd gear - 11.911 @ 116.18, 1.796 60ft. Next time I'll bring a full bottle and some of it's friends.

Today was my first time out on the new M/T DR's I bought a few weeks ago. Great tires, I just need more practice with them and I should be in the lower 1.7's no problem.

BTW - NX 100HP wet kit.

Congrats Brian! Seem the Z/28 is moving right along now that you sold off the 3rd gen and concentrated on one car.

Good show!

Thanks Derek, pretty soon I'll be in the same boat as you and will need a truck for DD duty. I have 71K miles on the clock and am considering heads & cam right now. Not sure I want to invest money into a higher mileage motor though.

Thanks Coach... I should stop modding and drive my car a little better. But that 11.68 pass felt slow. I have a sickness and I have it bad.

I understand the sickness man, and don't forget the truck came after 7 years of driving the Nova everywhere (including a 600-mile round trip to Atlanta once for a race). You need to get comfortable with what you already have done to the car before moving on, IMHO. I've had a similar combo in the Nova for about 2 years, and I'm planning a few changes for this winter, but wanted to make sure the car was making consistent laps and running well before making any big changes.

Good luck getting her even faster!

If I don't do heads & cam, I am still going to install the QA1's and front drag springs I bought over a year ago. Also, a set of SFC's before I start twisting the body. I'm just dying to go faster... even though less than 6 months ago I was running 13.1's @ 109+ on street radials N/A. Ah well... time will tell.

I talked to Lou today before my phone died and he said Little Bull was running a ProCharger on his 69 Camaro on Sun did you notice if it still had the BBC 540 in it? Also was he spraying too, I guess hes gunning for Susans car , the NoBull race next month should be interesting!!

I saw a BBC, but no spray. I heard a rumor he was running 30+ psi. The car spun like crazy, I never saw him do a full pass. Trevor's 67' Nova was kicking *** - I saw an 8.20 @ 164 in the heat of the day.

Damn 8.20 at a funday Sunday, Susans BMW might be in trouble. I`m suprised Little Bulls car could`nt hook that thing never spins, @ 30lbs on a BBC its maybe just too much power for OSW.

Dave,

Yeah he's got a new setup that he's been working on for sometime now. Still has to get it all worked out to be able to make a clean pass. He's pushin' some serious HP, but lost that well known consistency he had. Give me shout and I'll share some numbers.
