stock cams make max torque around 4400. my converter is a 5100 stall. so i'm not at max tourqe leaving the line. it wasn't too bad with the 26's , i was 60'ing pretty decend no spin at all. then i went to bigger tires just to make it down the 1/4. so it was coming out of the hole VERY lazy.

Have you thought about trying a 27" tire. By the way thats a nice time. My best SI before accident was 11.45 on a 1.50 60ft .Now putting a new SI car together for the 06 season. Going to try for the list again or atleast top 5.

Nah i'm not going to bother. i figure i won't be going back to the 1/4 mile track anytime soon so i'm just gonna throw the 26's back on and tune my shocks.
I figure if i try the 1/4 again i'll just keep the 26's and rev to 6600 in third gear. might not MPH as good but it will get the time.

hmm... so bite the bullet and get a smaller converter, stick w/ the 26" tires and just run out the rpm's in the 1/4.

=)

Smaller tires might also make the converter stall a little lower. The more resistance you add the higher it will stall, the 26's might help a little with that.

**** that ****. i spent $900 on this coverter and i'll be damned if i buy another one to run a bit faster for a few months till i throw a cam in it. i race my car for fun and i'm only running the stock cam for gas milage until i move closer to my job next year. but thanx for the suggestion.

Nice run! As a comparo, My buddy just ran 11.21 in a 'lightly modded' bolt on Zo6. He has intake, headers, and tires only in full factory weight.
