Default F-13 Results: Issues with the tune or something...

So I just installed the F-13 and it is bad ***... Down low from a 2nd gear pull it is a BEAST but sometimes it feels like I am limited by the tranny because of it being an automatic.

My previous 1/8th mile times on street tire were around 8.0 at 85ish (although i had a best on slick of 7.7ish at 86.8 or something).

Tonight I was running CONSISTANT 7.80's at around 88mph. I used to run really good 60 foot times (around 1.60) but tonight I couldnt break 1.75 most of the time. It seemed like the nittos were actually hooking but it was bogging on launch... its never happened to me before.

The car feels a LOT stronger and I was really surprised with the not-so-improved numbers. I still havnt beaten my previous best time even with a new cam, and it doesnt make sense... I guess i just need a better tune than this mail in predator tune (although the drivability is good).

OPINIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED... I would like to run 7.5 or under, and 11.5 or under in the 1/4.....

A few questions, what is your race weight?
Where are you running? High or low track elevation?
What were the weather conditions when you ran your best verses your F13 runs?

I was there last night with T1 and i was very surprised he was not running faster. 7.8 is fast but after installing that F13 with him i thought for sure he would break mid 7s. Now, it was kinda warm and humid last night but then again i have no idea what the conditions were like when brent ran his best, he would have to chime in on that.
His bogging off the line was much more noticable after the cam. When he launches he isn't getting too much wheel spin but i'd imagine somewhere after 4,000 it comes out of the bog and hauls donkey. Brent where did u run that 7.6?

I only ran a 7.67 one time, and the conditions were perfect so lets ignore that... I ran consistant 7.8s before the new transmission and cam (on BFG drag radial). I am now having a little bit of bogging when I am launching, which doesnt make since for a yank SS3600 stall converter. I used to have an ST3500 from yank which may have launched harder. The temperature and stuff were pretty good last night, I will be running 7.70s just with the shift points changing, and I shouldnt have a problem running 7.50s once I figure out why my car is bogging off the line.

It launches hard for half a second, then bogs some, and then goes apeshit and makes the car feel fast as ****. I notice a HUGE difference after the cam, although my track times arent showing it right now because of the bogging.... Any suggestions?

put it on the dyno and see what the midrange looks like. it could be fat in the midrange.

I had some major KR issues in the midrange on my car with the same cam. I had to pull a few degrees out around 3800-4000 RPM to prevent the KR, and it feels MUCH better now. If you can get someone to scan it, you may be experiencing the same things I found.

The F13 is an excellent cam!
It does move your RPM band higher, so to take advantage of it you will need to raise your shift points higher. On a auto, you will need to raise the shift RPM and MPH. You will need to auto tap it to see where it is shifting. I would recommend shifting it at 7,000 for your best ET/MPH from my personal experience.
As for the boging out of the hole, that can be fixed with tuning of the timing table.
Check out my F13 times below in my sig.
Good luck,
Bob

I bet you are getting middle RPM KR like I was, which would also be around the same RPM as where you flash your converter.

your not the only one I had a best of 7.79 but mostly 7.80-.90s @87-88 I put the cam in my new best is 7.98 and a few 8.0s.(predator tune..RWTD SUCKS) I took it to the dyno dont fell any faster but I havent got it back to the track yet all in all IM very unhappy with it..it only dynoed 370 through MAC mids and a ypipe and peeked out at 6000..but I bought longtubes and true dauls now..if it dont run 7.50-.60 when it cools off im putting a my stock cam back in

ps. it does sound good!! Ill give it that much

I would definately move shift points up if you haven't yet. When I had my A4 SS my 60's would be in the 1.7's during the summer and then when it would start getting to 40-50 degrees outside I would go 1.6-1.63. I believe most of your time loss is in that 60'.
