Default Horrible results at the track tonight

This was the first time I've made it to the track this year. I made six 1/8 mile passes tonight, all of which I was pretty unhappy with. I was pretty consistent for the most part, but the downfall of that is that my times tonight are exactly what I was running last summer BONE STOCK.

One: (cutout closed)
Reaction: .7818
60': 2.26
1/8: 8.84 @ 85.21

Two: (cutout closed)
Reaction: .8310
60': 2.16
1/8: 8.72 @ 85.01

Three: (cutout closed)
Reaction: .8731
60': 2.25
1/8: 8.73 @ 86.58

Four: (cutout open)
Reaction: .4561
60': 2.28
1/8: 8.68 @ 86.37

Five: (cutout open)
Reaction: .4041
60': 2.44
1/8: 9.02 @ 84.27

Six: (cutout closed)
Reaction: .7581
60': 2.18
1/8: 8.68 @ 85.51

I'm pretty upset with my reaction times more than anything. The tree was a little different than it was last year... last year you could jump on the 3rd yellow light all day long and go, but this year if you jumped before the green light it was a foul, which I did twice.

As far as my 60' times go, I guess I cant be too mad. I had some Pro Stars and BFGs in my possession for a little while, but I sold them cuz I didnt think I'd go to the track enough to use them. I got them for a REALLY good price and sold them for a major profit so yea. I need tires badly.

I also need gears. Never really noticed it until tonight, but it feels like when I shift to second, the 3.42s drop the RPMs below my cams powerband and it takes a little while to wrap out again. I still need a LS6 intake too... felt pretty dead up top.

I need to get my car retuned also. I had it tuned perfectly when I had my 3" true duals, but then when I switched back to my 3" ORY and cutout everything got thrown off quite a bit. Hopefully I can get everything taken care of soon... I'm embarassed

Yea, get that thing retuned, set of 4:10's, drop that 60' time at least in the 1.7-1.8 range and you'll be fine. That intake couldn't hurt ya any either

Your MPH was decent as I'm sure it was hot at the track. You've easily got another .5 in it without trying too hard with just some traction and a good launch. Keep at it. The times will get better and better with practice.

Say I get that launch down with some sticky tires and get another .5 and run a 8.1-8.2, what should my trap speeds be? Last summer when I was runnin 8.6-8.8s consistently, I was trapping about 83-84.

I hate to predict this but I doubt if your MPH will go up significantly with sticky tires. You'll go quicker but since you'll have less time to accelerate, your MPH will most likely stay about the same. Once Fall returns with some great air, expect your MPH to shoot way up. Not before.
