8's soooo close!!!!
so i leave my house at 9 am, get to the track around 10 am, gates open @11, get in, do the tech, get the car ready bla bla bla, around 1 is they call quick street! jump in my car get up there ready to go, car is running mint, burn out, purge pre stage stage, drop the hammer, about 300 feet out, i hear my car, sounded like i poped the motor, i get out of it, back into it, and it sounded like hell! i shut down and roll to the endpull over take the hood off thinking im going to see a rod hanging out the side next thing i know, Joe comes down, do you know what happend bla bla, you have to be more carefull, bla bla. find out, my Muffler fell off
get back, go to rig somthing up, jack thecar up and see the pass side tire got a huge chenck ripped out of it
i send my girl home to get a tire, mybuddy swaps them out, she goes to my shop, gets some hanging stock, getsback to thetrack about 4 pm, im ready to run, however i didnt qalify so i was out, and the track was running behind so they didnt let us run with the people who qualified, so i talk to one of the guys, he tells me, later they will.
sit there til like 9:30they call TnT, i go up, andthey wont let me run!
go over tak to joe, tell him what i did, he said fine, go ahead and run, but make it good, cuz you arnt going again tonight!
thanked him and ran back. now i was last car in line, it cooled way off, i was waiting for 1/2 hour. by the time i was ready to run my bottle had cooled down to 960 bottle pressure, which was ok, go up, do my burn out, and they shut me down, the guy infront of me poped his motor or somthing
so i wait another 15-20 minits, by now my windows are foged up, and bottle pressure is down to 900
do another burn out, pre stage, stage, boom, car lifts perfect, felt real good, bang 2nd stage kicks in, |YH|A |WH|oO|OOOOO, i knew i was on a ride! car went perfect after my suspention tweeks last week!
about 800 feet, i feel the car start to nose over, look down, bottle pressure is like 700, so i lifted just enoph to kill the spray, and motored threw, get to the end, didnt throw the chute, but stopping was slow i knew i was on a good pass, get down the end, pulled a couple plugs, they where FAT cruse down to the time slip booth to get my slip i get this!

next time out, its all me!!!!!!! it will be a few weeks befor im out again because my buddies stage is done, so we will be tuning in his car for fun ford, but when i get back, 8.8 should be doable!!!
thanks to everyone of my crew, and thanks as always to East Side for helping me build a bad *** setup!!! and Nitrous direct for great nitrous parts

Congrats on the killer 1/8 mile run, bummer about all the bad luck for just 2 passes!

keep in mind i do hvac for a living and climb around in 120-130 degree attics. lol
