Track results for New Car with New Cam & Converter
I am very pleased to report that my 2000 Formula after alot of problems ran some very good times for the first time out since I have owned. I picked the car up from Simple Quick Racing sat night & went straight to Cedar Creek & ran a string of 7.8s & my best being a 7.70. The car has a Yank 4400 Converter with a Comp Cam with Longtubes & 3inch X-Pipe dumped in to bullets. This was all done on motor with my heavy *** 17 inch Torqe Thrust II rims on ET Streets running 275 inch tires up front. Still running AC too
I think I can get the car down to some 7.4s on motor & maybe crack in to the 6s on the juice
Big Thanks to Simple Quick Racing & all the guys who made this happen Daniel, Scott, Billy. This shop stood behind their work even after a broke trans & the gremlins. If you want a shop that will stand behind their work SQR is the shop for you.
Also what does a 7.70 equate to in the 1/4 mile?
1.703 60ft
7.7 @89 BEST Pass
1.789 60ft
7.8 @89
I had a bunch more but they where all 7.8s & a couple of 8.0s & 8.1s from learning how to launch the car

Congrats on the times, but I'd say more likely you'll be seeing times in the 12.teens. The NHRA break for 11.99 in the 1/4 is 7.50 in the 1/8.

Thanks man. I am taking out the Front seat & NOS Bottle & Hideaway Sub Box, & going to run a 1/4 tank of gas & awitching the front 275 tires out for some 245 & bypassing the PS Pump & see if I can run some 7.50s.
What is weird is the anything higher then 1800RPMS I would launch on this YANKPT4400 Converter it would spin. What are you guys launcing at, I am running on 26 11.5 ET Streets?

Most people use either 1.50 or 1.55 for an 1/8th to 1/4 conversion, or something in that range. I find from looking at time slips that the 1.55 will get you within a 10th or less of the actual 1/4 time, at least for my runs.
