Default Water box?

Hey guys I'm running street tires and I'm hearing not to do a burnout and drive around it instead as it makes the street tires slick,is this true?

Yes, it's true. Drive around the box and spin them a little to clean them off if you want, but not really necessary.

Either way, stay out of the waterbox with street tires

well, if it's even possible, some tracks (like our local track) they water so much that it isn't possible to go around the water box.

I don't know, I usually just drive though it, spin the tires to clean off but the problem is, the residual of water will cling to fender well and might get layed on the track as you make the pass, which isn't great for other drivers.

Also that the front tires lay down a wet track in front of the rears.

Try to go around with the fronts if the rears get wet or not do a burn out untill you see some smoke this will get the water off and the debris as well. Much after first smoke is a waste on street tires,

I went around the burnout box in my '69 with just regular street tires and was pulling low 2.1 60 fts. and given the fact that it's just a stock 350 I don't see any reason why doing a burnout would help it. I just drove around it and would line the car up straight and stomp on it twice to clean the dirt and what not off the tires.

Drive around it and warm them up.
