So close to 12s in the SRT8...
Temp: 66.9
Dew Point: 38.5
Baro: 30.30
Track altitude: 600 feet
Density Altitude 926 feet
So damn close to 12s...
Got to the track and it was PACKED. OSCA event and tons and tons of cars. Was there 4 hours and managed to get only 3 runs in.
The good news is the car picked up a tenth and ~1.5-2mph with the AFE Stage 2 intake.
Waited an hour for the first pass
13.05 @ 108.94 with a 2.02 sixty (New best mph and new best ET first pass!) I was pumped as the car normally runs the slowest on the first pass. Last time was a 13.2 @ 106mph so I knew it was going to be a good day...
Waited over an hour and went again
(Tried to launch a little harder)
13.020 at 109.11 with a 2.00 sixty (SO DAMN CLOSE to 12s!!!! Car felt great this run so I decided to try and launch a little harder next pass and go for the 12s)
Final pass after another hour and 20 minutes...
13.2X @ 110.23mph and a 2.2 sixty
Tried to launch too aggressively and ended up spinning on the line. The ran a new best mph again which was great.
I also weighed the car on the track scales...With me in it and 1/8th tank of gas the car weight 4335 pounds
Still lots of time left in the season so I think 12's will be possible before year end. The track confirmed my butt dyno with the AFE Stage 2.
Cheers,
Chris

my boss has one of those, but not the 300C, the all black one like 'Brain' on here has. it's a pretty bad *** ride!
thanks for posting up the weighttoo, he thought it was more in the area of 5000 lbs with him at 215lbs., but i thought that sounded like a bit much. he's got the air intake so far and is looking at doing tuning and exhaust work, but no motor work in the plans yet. sounds like he could get into the 12's if he ever goes to the track with it, but sounds like it would have to be the right conditions? have you done any tuning or exhaust work yet? if not, then it sounds like you'll jump deep into the 12's when you get that done.
just out of curiosity, does anyone make a 20" drag radial yet? or is there an option for a smaller diameter rim/tire combo for track use? thanks for the input and good luck breaking those 12's, sounds like next time out will be all you!

Thanks guys KP I see you were 3/100ths away from your goal too, congrats so close!
Car is stock except for the AFE cold air intake and a 185 stat. Stock wheels/tires, stock exhaust, no weight removed at all.
I weigh ~190.
I was tired from waiting so long and didnt want to wait another hour for a run so I left shortly after the third pass. It was a blast and there are still a couple months of good air left this season...I can't wait for negative DA
BTW The scales were certified for the OSCA event and were manned. I have no reason to doubt their accuracy.

Going to head out on the 29th to try again with the car in its current config
Next on the list for the car is high flow cats (+8-10RWHP) and predator programmer (~20RWHP plus a bunch of tuning features) Hoping to get the predator in the car before the end of the season but if not mid-high 12s will be no problem next year
