Default Patrick records fastest ever IHRA Pro Stock pass

IHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock champion Robert Patrick astonished the spectator contingent by reeling off the quickest naturally aspirated pass in doorslammer history. The Fredericksburg, Va., driver pushed his Purvis Ford-sponsored Cobra Mustang to a 6.266 at more than 223 mph.

All I can say is WOW !!

Ok I see the #'s it's a great pass. Now what is the difference between a NHRA and a IHRA Pro Stocker?

NHRA Pro Stockers are limited to 500 cid.

Since this isn't LSx-related, it's probably going to either be moved or locked.

Please don't do that. If a Ford in IHRA runs 400 quicker than any NHRA Pro Stocker there is a reason. Nothing against Ford just making a statement. If you shut it down has anyone learned anything? It not like you get 3K posta a day that it needs to be closed. If it's a power trip go for it.

Have to agree .....It's a major accomplishment in the IHRA drag racing world for a Naturally Aspirated 800+ ci IHRA Pro Stock motor. That's just plain get it done.

There a plenty of other posts in here about non LSX stuff,.... so I don't see a problem as long as it's drag racing results.

A killer time, but not that impressive considering with only 500 cubes NHRA records stand at 6.53 at 211 mph.

Looks like the photo is from SGMP Eastern Test Nats.

huge accomplishment for IHRA, unfortunately not many other than diehards follow IHRA. i personally love the big mountain motor stockers!

and i dont see a reason to move this post as it is definitely drag racing related. it doesnt always have to be LSX related.

Agreed on leaving it be John. Drag racers love drag racers no matter the brand or sanctioning body (I think). IHRA seems to be more sportsman-racer friendly too, but since I've never run one I can't fully comment.

True about the NHRA Pro Stock being close in ET but the 800ci IHRA cars are all running 220-223mph which shows the extra power but ET wins races.

There was so many good dragracing events this weekend there was the NMRA at Bradenton, the Chevy Show at Moroso, the 10.5 Shootout at Shadyside with all the big name 10.5 cars and the ESTN at Valdosta with Top Fuel cars, Alcohol Funny and Dragster, 16 NHRA Pro Stock, 18 IHRA Pro Stock and over 40 Pro Mod/ Pro Street cars.

.

Excellent, especially with all the 700"+ engines with 3 stages that can't do it.

Hats off to the ford guy. Another vote for leave here, results are results.

Thanks for not blowing this up. My experience with IHRA is in most cases they understand they are in a #2 position behind NHRA tracks. But, any track owner can be an ***. This et is still an accomplishment, it's a good looking car. "Drag racers love drag racers no matter what brand vehicle" is a very true statement.
