Default first time at track with gto, not happy. any ideas?

Well I made it to the track...
best run of the night was :

R/t: .258
60': 1.917
330': 5.450
1/8: 8.318
mph: 86.88
1000: 10.755
1/4: 12.808
mph: 110.17

on street tires, I feel she has mid 12's on a set of slicks...

I was hoping for alittle better times. and mph, it weighs 3940lbs. with me in it.. I believe the da here in KC is around 1,000ft. temps were in the mid 60's.there was a stock 2006 m6 gto there and he ran a best of 14.0 at 102.

there was a 2004 terminator, with smaller pulley, tune, exhaust, cai, said he was putting down 440 at the wheels. and he only ran a best of 12.6 at 110. and his next run same as mine.. 12.8 at 110mph. and he had a big set of dr's on there.

Im putting down 413hp/394tq. on a dynojet. with my mods. do you think it has mid 12's poss. low 12's with a better launch, and slicks or dr's.
I was leaving the line at around 2300 rpm's slipping alittle, until it got rolling then layed into it... had the street tires around 25psi.

any thoughts? oh yeah car is a m6

Buy two stock 17s and put MT drag radials on. It wont cost an arm and a leg and you will cut 1.6-1.8 60fts and get you where you want. Set of $100 drag bags will do you good as well.

My friend's 05' put down 416/396 on a dyno jet. Best pass to date is 11.89 @ 115 MPH. Full bolt on car minus an EWP, tiny cam, MT DR's on stock 17's, king springs, rear cover bushing. Just did a Tex dual disc clutch and 3.91 gears... new ETs to follow.

My buddies car is an 06 GTO A4 with the same mods as the OP minus the cam and he's running 12.2's on street tires. May need to go over the tune again. His dyno tune # were 366hp/366tq

Well Im at a loss? car puts down 413/394.
so I don't know, maybe by the way I was launching... easing out at 2500 then punching it once it got rolling. maybe I need to do a harder launch...

Your 60' sucks as mentioned..

I used a stock 16" wheel with 255/50/16 MT DR and hit the 60' times in sig.

Trial and error on the launch. I would think even with street tires since you have the IRS rear you might could get away with leaving a little higher. I would try 3500 to maybe 4000 with some slippage on the clutch. Just try different launch rpms dumping or slipping. If it spins dumping, try it slipping a little. Like I say trial and error or just break down and get some DR's.

Default update...

update, it has to be the tune. here is what the tuner sent me.....

I can send you the tune, and I'm already pretty sure its off. I've been talking with a few guys and I either need to spend more time getting the VE nailed down, or put it back to stock and just tune the MAF. The tune I'll send has the spark tuned and hopefully we can meet up sometime soon to get that in the car and see if it runs better.

car doesn't run nowhere as good as it did when I put down 413/394.
it doesn't feel any stronger then when I just had headers/cai.
it must be pretty rich, because Im burning more fuel, and the car just feels weak.

it ran strong, until the tuner tuned it about an hr. before I went to the track, and during the runs...

so Im sure I'll get is straightened out one way or another...

I would think the MPH should be around 112- 114 with your mods at 413rwhp and basically full weight. Drag radials are very helpful for a GTO as they help keep the wheel hop from breaking stuff and your 60' with practice could be around 1.70 - 1.75 on average.

Don't feel too bad. My first two drag runs in the turboed gto were a 15.2@101mph and a 14.3@109mph. When I finally "thought" I had traction figured out, I tried high boost. A 13.0@117mph sent me back to the drawing board. Needless to say, these cars require some effort to make them hook up. I felt like a total noob jackass every run that night.
