First time out with newly finished cam only car
Hey guys,
I thought I would share the latest results with my 99 SS cam only race car.
It has the typical bolt ons like meziere race pump, ls6 intake, hooker long tubes with bullets, all accessories removed except the alternator. I have done a ton of weight reduction but have not weighed the car yet. It has race brakes all the way around and a home made 9" with an alluminum center section that has 4:56 pro gears. I also fabricated the torque arm, lower control arms and the panhard rod. Also I guess I should mention it is a 6 speed with a spec stage 5 clutch. Now for the times...
Just to note, I wasn't beating on the car too hard. I wanted to have some fun and not break anything the first time out. After looking at the cam only records it is easy to see that I have to work on my launch big time. I was shifting around 6400 rpm and launching at around 4000rpm.
Best run:
60' 1.730
330' 5.002
1/8 7.579
MPH 98.09
1000' 9.846
1/4 11.46
MPH 127.22 <--pretty happy with this!
Best 60'
60' 1.576
330' 4.799
1/8 7.401
MpH 95.51
1000' 9.629
1/4 11.780
MPH 99.89 (Missed a shift! )
Obviously I would love to get close to the cam only records but I think I have my work cut out for me!
Also, I had the car tuned by Wade Stevens at redline performance in Toronto and I can't say enough good things about my experience.

Thanks for the positive comments guys.
Yeah it is a TRex. Wade was able to get 412 RWHP on the dyno.
I wouldn't mind any tips for getting that 60' down in the 1.3 range. I guess I need to grow a set of nuts and launch the SOB off the limiter!!
