Default Will it go low 8's????? In the 1/8 mile

I have a 2000 A4 Ls1 Camaro. My mods are a SLP lid, hollowed cats and Cutout, 3.23 geared.
My best time at the track last time on street tires was:
2.042
8.687
84.299

The question is can I get this car in the low 8's without a stall converter and gears. Is this possible? I am planning on adding an
Ls6 intake, ported TB, Pacesetter headers and ORY
free mods, BFG drag radials and a Tune of course.
I will be adding a torque converter later, just wanted to see if this car can go low 8's without it.

yea you should. Low 8 is around 12.50's that should not be a problem with those mods.

turbopaez ran a 8.2@86 with those mods and no stall but he has 3.73 gears? I went that same excat ET@mph but just with a LID and cutout in the heat of the Texas summer but ran a 7.9 with no tune and a Yank stall!

if i were you, unless you just have to have "sound" get a yank or Vig stall 3600-4000 stall and TUNE and maybe a nitrous kit and whoop alot of "unsuspecting" *****!! nobody can tell if you have a stall but they can see exhaust,P&P TB,intakes and nitrous lines(but who cares) but when it sounds stock but runs like a "raped ape" they will start crying foul!

I see what you mean, the thing is that some mustang people say my car can't run a 8.0-8.1 without stall and gears. Theres a guy here that owns a 2003 Cobra that runs 8.1 with some bolt ons and I want to show him I can do that with bolt ons only. If I don't run at least an 8.1, I have a nitrous kit ready to surprise his ***.

I ran 8.40's@84.5 MPH with just headers and DR's and a busted tranny mount and fucked up rear end...

I added the Vig converter, LS6 Intake, UD pulley and the car dropped to 7.70-7.72@87MPH consistantly. This was in +1000DA

Sure you can do it... with some minor changes and better weather.

Oh by the way I changed your post title - I thought we had another 8 second 1/4 mile car

*UPDATE*

I just installed the LS6 intake and Longtubes/ORYand free mods, and hit the 1/8 mile again.
This time it went:
60ft: 1.979
1/8ET: 8.384
1.8MPH: 87.13

I only have the Ported TB and Tune to go, and I doubt this car will go in the 8.0-8.1's with Ported TB and Tune. What ya'll think??

awesome.. its rare people actually give updates on what the outcome was when they start what do you think threads...

i think you could hit an 8.2 with the ported TB and tune.. you will pick close to 15-20rwhp with those two.. and a little tq, plus your shift points and everything will be bumped up.. you will get it.
