10.5 Z-28 9psi Vortech -- First time out! Well- enjoyed this friday at national trails raceway- and was really wanting to get the car out to get to run it for the first time, since i just got the car a week ago...
Spec's on the 84 z-28
350ci - filled block, stock bore..
CnC Brodex Track 1 heads
roller cam, 630 lift, etc.. etc..
Vortech 9psi
9inch 35spline 10.5 tire...
Turbo 400.. 4000 stall converter..
etc..etc.. tons of stuff....
My Friend of mine- who has been racing for over 20years- took the car out first, just to see how the car was, if straight, etc.. (plus i wasnt there yet- heading to the track from school..)
He was not hard with it- just drove it- through the 1/8th, and coasted to the quarter-mile..
*****Mind you, with all of these times- we were foot-braking the car so rpms were between 2500-3000 off the starting line, ya it has a trans-break, but once again.. first time out- just wanted to get a feel for the car.. *****

1/8- 7.22
1/8- mph 101
1/4- 12.07
1/4- mph 80.52
So it was my first time in the car, not used to the car at all.. and ya- a little scared of it.. id admit.. its a freakin bad car.. so i took it slow and ran a.......... 14.40 @ 80mph in the quarter.. i know i know.. but wait..
So i got a little more nerve up- and started to feel comfortable with the car- brakes, and what a car really does with just a mild tune up..
My first pass lifted pass the 60foot- on and off 2 times- just to feel the car..
60' - 1.75
1/8- 7.61
1/8- mph 96.85
1/4- 11.61
1/4- mph 122.81..
I went ahead with another pass, and it felt good, but had to lift after the launch- cause it headed towards the wall, lifted the front wheels, and had to back out(with it being my 2nd pass ever)

1/8- mph 99.51
1/4- 11.24
1/4- mph 126.22
Well.. i hope to get the car out again here in another week.. the car is still set-up on a summer tune- and has NOT been re-jeted for 20 degree cooler weather... but still works..
The car has ran 6.40-6.50's @ 108-112mph in the 1/8th wes (who had the car before) 1/4 miles times should be around the 10.00's - 10.30's.. (once i get the car down.. - im 10mph off from his 1/8th mile times..
Im just excited.... Its so different then my procharged street car.. Hope ya guys like it.. more info to come.. let me know what ya think??
