I know this is an old thread but figured I would give it a bump. It was very useful to me. Just completed the task over the last few weeks. I worked on it when I could. Thanks again!

Not me, took the dash out and then removed it. Wasn't bad just takes time.

Pulled passenger air bag and air bag control module last weekend. Started the wire diet behind the dash and seem to have shorted something since it wouldn't start again. BCM just clicks non-stop even with key out.

Anybody have issues removing HVAC wiring, radio wiring, or airbags? Removed HVAC, radio and air bags a while back so those shouldn't cause this new problem. Focusing on wire diet now, would be nice to know what the hell these miles of wire and random modules do.

Maybe shorted the BCM or battery while clipping wires and need to replace something.... dunno. Ideas? Experience?

I pulled the dash and everything that was related back in the day, and did it with the engine in. That center post, if you pull on it will pop thru the firewall, not easy but it did. And made for an easy place to rout a couple wiring items thru, as it gave a convenient spot in the firewall for that.
