Question Converter @ track and dyno # worries, help

Ok, over the winter I made some changes to my car. I ported my vic jr intake to match the ports on my heads (quite a bit of material removed). Also, I switched from a 105mm Accufab TB on a sheetmetal elbow to a 2200cfm 4-barrel TB. Last thing is that I added some extensions on to my open headers since that normally picks up some HP.

Now, when I dynoed my car last time, it made 518rwhp and 404ft lbs and when I went last week it made 505rwhp and 424ft lbs, which seems very odd unless I messed with the flow on the intake. Also, while overlaying the graphs, it looks like the converter spiked and I picked up over 100rwhp in the lower rpms in some spots.

Anyway, on to the next item. I went to the track last night and was launching off the brake w/o a 2-step (since I don't have one) and my converter is flashing quite high. Last year the converter would flash to ~4000rpms when on the brake and last night it flashed to ~5500 on the brake (was nice to see some air under the wheels ). Let me mention that this is a ~3600rpm converter so it should be pretty tight. Last year I went 10.601 @ 126.8 w/ 1.45 60ft. and yesterday went 10.505 @ 127.15 w/ 1.380 60ft.

Any thoughts on these issues and suggestions as to what to do. I may just pull the converter out and send it back in to be checked as i'm looking to spray the car soon and with the car coming that high on the converter now, it'll just be a mess on a 250 shot. Here are a couple vids, last year to this year.

Thanks guys and looking forward to some thoughts,
Josh

Did you re tune? What was the A/F ratio like?

Thats alot of stuff to change without a re tune.

Yea, I had the tune touched up on the dyno and that is what it ended up being. A/F was right about 13:1 from 6k up

I would call the people you got the converter from and see what they say.

I did, they said either the work I did picked up the power/torque and is causing the converter to respond differently or maybe a fin or something got bent in the converter. I plan on taking the car out once more and watching things more closely (launch RPM, shift extension, etc.).

Regardless of what happens, i'm taking the converter out and sending it back to them for inspection. If it's broken, it needs to be fixed. If it's fine, I need it tightened up considerably before I spray it

I'd definately have the converter checked. What size tires are you running? What is your shift rpm, and rpm at the finish line?

Tires are MT Drag 28x10.5W's. Shifting ~7000 and I honestly wasn't paying much attention to what I was going thru the traps at. I'm going to take it out once more before I send the converter in and watch exactly what it stalls at on the brake and then watch my shift extension and what the RPM's are at thru the traps.
