Default waterbox burnout question

Hello, I have a question for you guys with a manual tranny, I took it to the track last night and noticed I could not get my slicks to smoke, What gear are you guys doing your burnouts in?

3rd, 4.30 gears with a spool. About 5,000 rpm and hold it steady then roll out and push the clutch in when it starts to bite. Don't bog it down at the end of a burn out. Very bad on the clutch.

2nd gear. Spin them in the water quick to get the tires wet, pull out of the water, set the line lock good, put the car in 2nd, wind it up to abotu 5500 and dump the clutch in second and hold it at 5500 or so, when you see the tires smoking, give it a good 5 count, then release the line lock and power thru it until you hear the tires screech, at that point put the clutch back in, put the car in neutral, stop, and pump the clutch about 10 times to the floor to circulate the fluid so it's not going to give you a hassle during the run.

That's how I did it when I had the stick in my car and never had a problem.
