Default Swapping from 3.70 to 4.30 - what gain in ET can I expect?

All things being equal, what kind of ET gain can I expect?

I can say that the car was tough to launch with the 3.70 gear... and I think the 4.30 will help the burn-out and launch... and not to mention that I will be much closer to peak HP at the traps...

I was at ~ 5,600 rpm at the traps with the 3.70... and should be at ~ 6,600 rpm with the 4.30... my car peaks at ~ 6,600...

So, who here has swapped from a 3.70 to a 4.30 and can share the results with me?

Thanks guys

on my m6 going from 3.73's to 4.11's I gained 1 tenth . I'm sure as the cam got bigger and bigger the 4.11's helped more later to get the car in the power band faster. You should see a .2 easy.

Thanks for the info man.

What size cam did you have when you did the gear swap? And what size cam did you change to after the gear swap?

1" shorter tire was worth .18 for me. That was with identical 60' times. You could see a pretty big gain.

NICE!

What size tire did you swap from? 28" to a 27"?

Yeah, when I was running a 3.73 gear I switched from 28" to 27". I was quite surprised, but it definatley makes a difference with finding the power band.
