Default Come inside 6 speed drag racers

Ok Ive got a 6 speed car and I am looking for some suspension help. I have QA1s all the way around. UMI LCAs, PHB, SFCs. Spohn drag sway bar. My current shock settings are 3 in the back and 7 up front. I was running 3 up front and 7 in the back, but the car would nose over HARD between shifts. I have hypercoil 300# springs on the front coilovers. Do I want the car stiffer in the rear or softer to keep the car from nosing over?

you want your rear shocks stiffer than your front to transfer the weight .....on the street run the front at 6 or 7 ,at the track run the front at 2 and the rear at 7 depending on track conditions ......if your nose falls down shift faster

The OP hasn't specified whether he has F-series or R-series shocks - they are very different.

QA1 R-series single-adjustable drag shocks have fixed (firm) compression and variable rebound. Many street/strip cars have QA1 F-series shocks that are single-adjustable but both compression and rebound vary together from soft to firm. You need to know which type you are dealing with.

It all depends if the car is slamming on the rear. On my car it does, and it has a heavy race weight. When I removed the front swaybar that became very prevelant. Having an R series shock keeps that front up but the stiffer rear keeps it controlled so it will not tend to unload the tire when the body/bump stops comes off the rear.

I am torn on the F or R series for street use but thats something I gotta deal with when I get there. I do have Single Adj in the box waiting to go on

Shifting better will eliminate the nose from droping...

I have 2/3 in front and 7-9 in back depending on track conditions. A few times I had 0 in front at 9 in back when the track did not hook well.

Qa-1's all around. I run my fronts at #1 or #2(I play with both.) and the driver side rear #6 passenger rear at #7. This seems to get me the best 60's 1.42 n/a and keep the car more levle leaving the hole. I have tried stiffer in the rear with no luck.

^^^ If I could start pulling low 1.4's I would be happy as hell!!! That might get me into the 9's with a stick.
