Default What tire pressure for skinnies

I have 15x3.5 with khumo 165/80s. What psi should I run them at?

I run mine a little over what is listed on the side as the max pressure, the more air the stiffer it is and less rolling resistance you will see...

I have the same tires and think I run them @ 47#, I haven't checked the pressure in them in a while, but I recall putting it just a little over the number listed. If I recall there was a thread on this a while back and people were talking about running 60# in thier front runners, but I thought that was too much for my stuff and only went a little over the stated number...

.

On the street, a lot of guys run a little over what's marked.
On the track, guys have gone 10-15 over their number.

Those are not the VW tires that some guys use that have a very low speed rating, are they?

You might want to rethink using those then, or at least get a better tire next time around. By the way I run 42lbs in mine, the 8ply Sportsmans.

Well I bought the wheels with tires on them already. I dont like how they look almost flat with 45 pounds in them and the front of the car scrapes on everything now.

They look flat because they aren't designed to carry that much weight. All of teh VW tires are a VERY unsafe thing to put on the front of a car that's going to see 120+ and is as heavy as these cars are.

I would STRONGLY reccommend a set of the 8 ply, or at least the 4 ply sportsman front tires. I ran the 4 ply and they were fine @ 40 lbs... the VW tires that I have seen people use, don't look right even with 50 lbs because the sidewall just can't support the weight. Now, imagine having to make an evasive maneuver with that tire on the car, they'll roll right over and then you're gonna be in trouble. At the track, car gets sideways on you say 150 feet out because of some oil the last import left on the track, then you'll find yourself in trouble too. Nevermind if you stand the car up, and it comes down a little hard, even from a 2 foot wheelie.

Ditch those tires please as soon as possible.

So the 8ply sportsman have a stronger sidewall meant to hold the weight?
