i was cutting low 1.7's on my nittos switched to mickeys and went down to low 1.6's it takes a lot of seat time with a 6spd your 60 will drop with practice

also every car is different clutch wise ,track conditions , driver mod, suspension you get the idea

bias-plys help a lot. I was cutting 1.58 on a road racing suspension. I went to a 28" tall tire and a 15" rim and went with adjustable shocks front and rear and now I am cutting 1.52 60' times. It's all about seat time. I would make a spread sheet and see what works and doesn't work.

We got 1.57 with bone stock shocks with lowering springs using 4 year old M/T dr's. The gas tank was slam full though I think this did help with the bite. Launch at 5k

The QTP Camaro pulls mid to low 1.3 60's with a Spohn T/A, control arms, relocation brackets, QA1's and 28" Hoosiers. He dumps the clutch @ 7000 RPM's.

Don't over look seat time. Practice is an important part.

I run the Nitto DR as well and have found they hook better when warmed up a little more then other tires. I use ~17 PSI cold (goes up after a pass). There are guys getting into the 1.6's but that's tough, if your willing to leave hard (risk breaking) 1.7's are pretty resonable.

IMO you shouldn't be spinning that wide of tire that much.

The other factor is track prep, see what other guys with similar cars results are.

I could no0t break 1.9 barrier on nittos. I recently put 15" prostars with et streets, Strange adjustable front shocks and went to the strip this past weekend.

Best 60' was 1.67. Not bad for just feeling out the new setup. Next time I make it to the track im gonna leave at around 6k, WOOHOO can you say hang on?

This is what works for me,maybe not everyone but my car. I cut 1.42 60's n/a in a 3,600+ car with me in it,m6 on a M&H Racemaster 26x11.5x15 cheeter slick. I have hal q-a1's all around. front set at #1,pass rear at #6 and driver rear at #7. this helped the car straighten out some from the hole. I have no front sway, lca's on last hole,-2 on 12bolt rear, bmr tq arm(brace-not mounted on tail shaft) panhard rob, fraim welded and a tube frontend. This got me 1.50-1.52 60's on M&H cheeter's but in 16'' rims. I then went to the 15'' welds, front runners and added the bmr rear drag bar and went 1.42 to 1.44 60's all day on a 4.11 gear and a 26'' tire. I luanch off a two step set at 6,500rpm's and I do dump the clutch. I pull a wheelie,no bogging or alot of tire spin. I run 10's n/a at 128-129mph in good weather. I feel the M&H tire helped alot because I tried m/t et streets, hoosier and et drags and nittos is like driving on ice. Don't know why but the M&H made my car hook better then others. They can be bought at jegs, summit or www.intercotire.com Goodluck to ya.
