Default Suspension: Shock settings & ride height

QA1's all the way around, and the car is slammed, too low, theres too much travle when launching it seems. my fenderwells are rubbed a little, and i'd like to rasie it up. Buddy and i measured 25-5/8 to the top of the fenderwell....anyone have any clue what an optimum height would be?

and what settings should i start with on the 12 ways front and rear? just need a starting point...

thanks.

That's some rake on that car.
I'd get it to a chassis shop and have them scale it.

I'd start by raising the front a solid inch.

Get some video of what its doing and post it, Stick cars generally like much stiffer settings than Auto because they tend to punish the tires at launch.

What springs do you have upfront? if you can adjust the ride height, crank it up.

Most I have seen are around 28" all the way around with maybe a slight rake. Your car is too low in the front.

I had my car on the ground the other day to get some measurments before the weight starts coming out, front was 26.5 inches thru the center of the wheel to the fender lip.

You're a good inch too low in the front.

The back of my car was at 26 7/8, rear springs are surface'd (ground to sit flat on the rear and chassis) and the spring isolaters are out. it's about an inch or so lower then stock.

I would measure the rear and get the front close to what the rear measurement is. Maybe a 1/4 rake to allow for full tank. Take it to the track and see how it transfers the weight. Unless you are on the rear bumper I see no reason to have that much rake in your setup.

Mine is identical to JLs. The front evens out with the back and it does not have the rake like yours does.

when I had the old heavy iron 408 I had the car even front to back but with the new aluminum motor she's got a bit of rake to it.
Why?-because that's how it scaled out. Do yourself a favor.

raise the car atleast an 1" i'd go 2"... its easier to lower it back down... very firm compression on back with loose extension for the shocks... front- start out a few clicks from firm compression and and middle on extension...

yeah, too much. i dont know of any "chassis" shops around here, but i guess scale is the term they would use?

QA1 325# springs *I think. either way i can adjust the height on the shocks, thats what im getting at looking for approximate measurements, although it looks like only a slight rake is necessary with the Iron block up front.

26.5 would be almost another inch which is what im gonna shoot for first and see how it clears/transfers.

the rake is a lot less serious, and from inside the car not as noticeable. i think these front runners are a smidegeon size bigger than the norm for these cars(im told).
