Default What Transmission Shield You Guys Running?

I posted this in the automatic transmission section and got no response. This section seems more appropriate to ask this question.

I have a TH400 with Utrabell and I'm currently running a blanket to shield the drum area. The date is up on the blanket and I was thinking about using a bolt on shield.

Which shield will fit the tunnel without having to be clearanced? (TCI, Art Carr, Etc.) I really want to do this with the tranny in the car, so clearancing may be a pain. The CSR covers the flexplate area and doesn't fit with the Ultraball.

Whatcha all running? Any good options?

Nobody running anything besides a CSR? Are you guys with Ultrabells not running a shield?

Thanks in advance

I got a hard shield (don't remember the brand) on my car and it is a pain in the a$$. Put a blanket on the wifes car and love it. Blanket is easier to work around.

I actually think the blanket is a pain. too tight and the car won't shift, too loose and it hangs down towards the ground.

Oh I see. The hard shields work well but you will have fitment problems for sure with the stock tunnel. I don't see any way you can get it on with the trans in place but then again I've never done it.

From what I've read on here it is very tough to get a metal drum shield to fit in the stock tunnel. You'll find most are running the CSR because it does both (Flywheel & Drum) and fits real well.

I think your best bet is to run another blanket. How often are you at the track that you need a shield on at all times?

This is a track only car. I guess I'll just do a new blanket.

Blanket is good for two years. Not that they could ever tell because the tag is at the top of the tranny.
