Default Gear question

I'm in the process of turning my Camaro into a 1/4 mile drag car. 100% drag car that won't see the street. Next season I'll be running around 400rwhp N/A. The DA at the track is around 6k usually. As of right now I have a 26inch MT Street radial. So, my question is....

Are 4.56 gears a good choice to run with a TH400?

At what mph will I run out of rpm? (for down the road as my car gets faster)

And will they still be ok with a taller tire and 125 shot?

well i have 4.11's with my th400 on a 28in slick .... you wont make it to the finish line with 4.56's and a 28 in tire
i would say go with 4.10's and a 28in tire you should be ok if you spray it ...but you'll be spinning toward 7000 though

If you run N/A that gear is fine but like said on a 150 shot or so, you will be running out. You have converter slip and tire growth to deal with but in general, this is considering a 7k redline vs stock.

4.10's should be more then enough for motor and spray.

Look at gutting the car down to around 3,000 race weight and thats going to me a world of difference.

Ok, thanx guys. I think I will be running N/A all the time next year and save the spray for special occasions. T/O and such.

I have a stock bottom end LT1, AI ported heads, how high can I rev that? I don't plan on keeping it for more than next season, but just curious.
