Default cutout before and after results..did you gain anything?

Has anyone tried making a pass with the cutout closed and another with it open the same night? If so, what kind of gains did you get?

Cut Outs Generally gain. The question is does your have a track that has a Muffler restriction or DB restriction like E-Town, if not, then open her up.

FYI Cut out placement and the engine combo will effect the end results, you may wanna consider checking the tune, if one goes on.

A lot of it will depend on your tune. If your AFR is dead on with the cutout capped you may go a little lean with it open and could slow down. If you are running on the rich side then you will probably see a small gain. Either way give it a try!

you will gain a little if anything, but it isn't going to hurt. All those little free mods and stuff like this add up. Open it up and post results.

I gained 17hp with my cutout over my slp dual dual. I always make a few passes with the cutout closed and when I open it I gain 1.5-2mph.

I gained 1rwhp on the dyno with it open versus closed, located where most ppls are right under the pass side rear seat. Have not track times since my local track wont let me run it open.

No cars are aloud to run open headers in the street legal class (only class I can run in), They wont let me run it open beacuse the exhaust isnt going through a muffler, therefore its not "street legal". All the cars running open headers are not in the street legal class so there good to go.

Yup friend of mine made 33RWHP more with his cutout open than going threw his stock TA catback. I don't think he has ran his car at the track with it closed yet tho.
