Arrow Weighed My Pig of a Trans Am Today....

I wasnt busy today so i decided to weigh my Trans Am. I weighed it as it sits on the street. I also had a FULL tank of gas, had about 30 miles on the tank.

But got damn considering some of the weight i have taken out of the car, it is a P I G!!!!!!!!!

W/O me in the car it came in at 3440

With me in the car it came in at 3640

Driver (me) is 200 lbs on the dot

So i would say i had prolly about 14-15 gallons of fuel, which is about 93 lbs.

Now here is what has been taken out of the car:

Rear Bumper Support - 19.2 lbs
Spare Tire and Jack - 37 lbs
A.I.R. Pump - 6 lbs
Cross Member Brace - 2 lbs
Stock Trans Am Hood, Replaced W/VFN Hood - 27 lbs
No EGR - 15 lbs

I say when i go to the track and i put on my 16" rims and tires, take out my floor mats (6 lbs), T-Top Flappy thing (5lbs), passeger leather seat (32lbs), rear leather seats (28 lbs) and run 1/4 tank of gas (+18 lbs) i think my car shoudl weigh in at 3465

What do you all think? Sound reasonable?????

Go get a Deka ETX14 lightweight battery from an autoparts store. It is around ~11lbs. If you have a red top Optima like me, you could lose almost 30 more lbs.

Oh, and there is no way that flabby cover thing is 5lbs..haha

You would save a lot of weight if you got rid of that transfer case...no reason to have a 4x4 T/A...hahahahaha

Well it is about a 75lbs difference. Which is almost .1 in the 1/4 mile. Remeber for ever 100lbs that you loose, you drop .1 in the 1/4 mile

Weighed my old 2000 white Z/28 when I got it. It was gutted by previous owner, had two front cloth seats, and LT1 veggie cutters front and back....
