Default Midplate and off the shelf headers?

Is it possible? I looked at putting a midplate in my car, but after looking at the right side header, I don't see it happening unless you get custom set of headers made

Anyone done this with off the shelf headers?

We have a mid plate setup that works with almost any header.

There are pics in here and in the gallery section of our site under my car.

Mine took some work to get to fit, this is a comp engineering plate, had to cut off the passenger side tab and weld on a new tab that met the frame rail higher to allow header clearance.

Can you just use spacers on the converter when using a midplate? I know it is tight right now getting to some of the bellhousing bolts, how do you do it with a midplate added? Where is the desired chassis attaching mount point?

or you have the converter built for the midplate thickness...

as for the bolts...very long extensions with a universal joint...definately not fun to install/remove...

I have QTP 1 7/8 headers, there is no way that I can get a midpalte to work with these headers that I can come up with, unless I do the 1 5/8 bar from framerail to framerail.

LSmonster, do you have any pics of your Kooks and midplate setup?

Sure. But remember, I don't have anything hanging off to the sides of my block. I trimmed all that off and hung my mid plate from the top. In my "opinion," hanging it from the top is the best way to do it. Take a look at my "Rookie VS. the 25.5" thread and you'll see how I did it.
