I've got most of the rear suspension bolted up into the 2000 Z/28, but I'm liking the idea of running all new bolts for the lca's and phb. Any suggestions?

Also anyone know what the bolt size was stock for the cross member that sat about 2 feet in front of the diff?

I need some for my front K-member as well. I was looking at some of the sponsors sites and, if I remember correct, both BMR and Wolfe can supply you with what you be needin.

Grade 8 bolts is what any of the above manufacturers will supply you with. You can get them from your local hardware store. Remember to get grade 8 nuts, and hardened washers as well.

I have got lucky at Sears Hardware... they tend to have the big bolts that Home Depot and them don't have... big enough to replace bolts on my cherry picker that were not in the box...

Try your local Napa shop as they often carry all Grade 8 stuff. I just put on my QA1's and used all Grade 8 + Nylon Locking Nuts and washers.

i had gotten all new k member and front lca bolts right from the dealer then,bmr has the rear lca stuff or i like to go to mcmastercarr.com for all my odd ball hardware needs they have just about anything you would want and yes grade 8 is the way to go for all the susp stuff the rear cross member is prolly m10x1.25 but im not sure ill check that tomorow in my box o spare bolts

I went a while back and the told me to get the big stuff you have to go to their local ware house that distributes to the local stores to get them. Im sure they have the factory stuff but if you went to the larger LCA bolts I doubt it.

Lowes usually has a nice selection of grade 8 hardware.

I think I will get them from Madman, my list of needed bolts is getting longer and longer. I've got all of the rear suspension bolted in except for the drag sway bar. Looks purty, I will take pics.

I go to carquest for my bolts theyve been cheaper than sears and menards and if they dont have it they can usually get it. It also helps that the warehouse is off 53 in bolingbrook by me.

Hmmm I'll have to check out Menards I have one that is about 2 miles away.

I bolted in the UMI rear drag bar, looks very nice. Now I just have to find a handful of missing bolts and the car is a rock solid roller.

I just need three nuts to complete the back half, and of course some brakes.

We typically drill out most of the holes for the LCA's and PHB etc. to 1/2" and use grade 8 bolts from Fastenal, when replacing the stock bolts. Remember to use fine thread bolts and to have all shank through most of the bushing(s). You'll have to get a bolt that has enough bushing to go all of the way through your bushing (best if it will go through the bracket as well) then cut it down so the excess threads aren't in the way.

if you dont have an available fastener store, look at the john deere or CAT dealers.
they stock grade 8 and 10.9 property class metric bolts in bulk.
