Payed 100 bucks for open Weld lugnuts for their ProStars, a week later they are rusting where they meet the washer and look like crap. Whats everyone running? I have longer wheel studs so I need open end lug nuts

The solution to all of your problem ends here. These also keep from damaging your wheels.

I've had Mcgard and Weld and they both rust where the hex meets the washer. I find spraying the washers with WD40 each time they are R&R'ed helps slow the process but doesn't stop it. The Mcgards are better than the Welds from my experience, but neither is rust proof.

Im surprised to see those mcgaurds rust. I use those a lot and haven't had an issue. Those are about as good as your going to get.

Use this product. I was shocked that it actually worked for me. I tried it one wheel of my snowmobile trailer rims and not the other. The difference after being out in the salt and snow was night and day.

i just got the McGuards and they are minty. As for washers i used the stainless ones they sell. They were $0.99 ea. but $10 for washers that wont ever rust is worth it IMO.

The sleeve kit that was posted looks pretty pimp too!! Might give them a try when i redo my rears!

As mentioned, McGard is the only one I know with a lifetime replacement warranty on rusting. I just paid a little extra for them b/c of that reason, and hope they do the job!

Wow 2009.
What you guys think?
Reviving an old thread.
"SharkHideŽ is the ideal long-term protectant for steel, aluminum, copper, brass, stainless and fiberglass"

Just saw this on "Gearz" or "Trucks" TV show this week. Never heard of it. This thread since 2010. What's the Jury say about the stuff for long term and steel/aluminum use?
